This study shows that Salmonella VNP20009 recruits pro‐tumor neutrophils that reduce its anticancer efficacy. Combining VNP with amodiaquine selectively eliminates these neutrophils by targeting glutathione reductase. A GR‐shRNA‐loaded VNP strain was further developed, demonstrating an innovative strategy integrating drug repurposing with synthetic ...

A real‐world model of structured animal product restriction practiced for religious reasons reveals the dynamic adaptability of the human gut microbiome to dietary change and uncovers reductions in diversity and rare taxa loss. Integrated microbiome, metabolomic, and proteomic analyses uncover coordinated taxonomic and molecular shifts and identify ...

ImmuDef, a novel algorithm to quantitatively evaluate the anti‐infection immune defense function of an individual based on RNA‐seq data via a variational autoencoder (VAE) model. It is validated on 3200+ samples across four immune states with high accuracy. It can serve as a metric for disease severity and prognosis across pathogenic cohorts.

Microbial Specialized Metabolites in Phytopathogen–Host Citrus Interactions
The world's citriculture has witnessed large-scale productivity decay due to microbial infections. The specialized metabolites produced during infection by pathogens are an important aspect of complex phytopathogen–host interactions and can be crucial for virulence and disease viability.

An iron‐based nanozyme selectively eliminates intratumoral P. anaerobius while catalytically generating ROS to induce ferroptosis, synergistically suppressing colorectal cancer growth and activating anti‐tumor immunity through immunogenic cell death. ABSTRACT The intratumoral microbiota is a critical determinant of therapeutic outcomes in colorectal ...

Microbial endophytes: diversity, functions and host-endophyte interactions
This presentation outlines methods of detection of plant endophytes as well as functions of endophytic microbes (bacteria and fungi) in plants. Functions include enhancing resistance of plants to biotic and abiotic stresses, modulating and increasing plant growth, deterring herbivory and increasing nutrient absorption in plants.

Gut microbial-host metabolic interactions following bariatric surgery
Obesity has emerged as one of the major global socioeconomic healthcare burdens at present. Bariatric surgery, especially Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB) has been largely utilised to treat individual suffering from morbid obesity. In the current study, a hyperinsulinemic obese Zucker rat model was employed to study two different weight loss approaches,
