Shaping Liquid Crystal Rubbers by Chemical Potential Gradient
Depositing a low molecular weight liquid crystal drop onto a uniformly aligned LCE leads to non‐uniform swelling, enabling temporary shape changes and bending actuation. These deformations are quantitatively modeled for different alignment conditions, and methods to permanently lock desired shapes are explored.
