Are West African Heat‐Lows Analogous to Dry Tropical Cyclones?
Heat‐lows qualitatively resemble dry tropical cyclones (TCs), though their underlying physics has yet to be compared. In this study, we show that West African transient heat‐low climatology correlates well with TC potential intensity generalised over land.

Over the past 60 years, noticeable changes have been observed in the main hydroclimatological variables, driven by both natural and anthropogenic factors. In the context of climate change, such behaviour may adversely affect the state's economic activities, as well as increase the recurrence of extreme events in the region.

Slab‐Plume Interactions Beneath Australia and New Zealand: New Insight From Whole‐Mantle Tomography
Australia, New Zealand, and the surrounding regions have experienced complex plate interactions with significant seismic and volcanic activities. The Taupo volcano on the North Island of New Zealand has experienced multiple catastrophic eruptions ...

Multi‐Country‐Multi‐City Characterisation of Heat Stress and Exposure in Africa
This study provides the first continent‐wide, grid‐specific assessment of heat stress trends in Africa, revealing a sharp rise in multi‐scale extreme heat episodes and shifting population exposure. Findings highlight urgent implications for urban planning and climate adaptation.

ABSTRACT Wheezing is a common respiratory symptom in infants and toddlers, and recurrent wheezing is a significant respiratory disorder affecting this age group. Given the multifactorial etiology of recurrent wheezing, clinical practice lacks standardized diagnostic and therapeutic protocols. Recent years have witnessed substantial progress in clinical

Cooling of rocket thrust chambers with liquid oxygen [PDF]
Rocket engines using high pressure liquid oxygen (LOX) and kerosene (RP-1) as the propellants have been considered for future launch vehicle propulsion. Generally, in regeneratively cooled engines, the fuel is used to cool the combustion chamber. However,

A pilot variational coupled reanalysis based on the CESAM climate model
Variational data assimilation of in‐situ and satellite ocean data and reanalysis atmospheric data into an intermediate complexity Earth system model is possible by adjusting the surface fluxes and internal model parameters. This pilot application requires nearly complete information on the atmospheric state for synchronization.

ICON outperforms COSMO in simulating a south foehn event in the Alpine Rhine Valley, with improved accuracy in temperature, wind speed, and foehn timing. This enhanced performance likely results from a more accurate representation of surface energy balance and gravity wave pattern on the lee side of the mountain.
