Study on Heat Transfer Characteristic in Hot Press Forming Process

open access: yesTransactions of Materials Processing, 2013
The heat transfer characteristics between die and sheet and die and coolant are important parameters in hot press forming process. The determination of the quenching time that guarantees full martensitic transformation requires proper understanding of these heat transfer characteristics. The contact area changes drastically during the quenching process

The use of discontinuous PEEK/carbon fiber thermoplastic moulding compounds for thick-section componentry

open access: yesAdvanced Manufacturing: Polymer & Composites Science, 2019
The hot-pressing of discontinuous fiber moulding compounds (DFMCs) is an established way of forming geometrically complex components, however, it is not a simple process.

Control-Oriented Characterization of Product Properties during Hot Hole-Flanging of X46Cr13 Sheet Material in a Progressive-Die

open access: yesMetals, 2021
Robust and versatile production is enabled by a closed-loop control of product properties. This essentially relies on the characterization of the interaction between properties and available degrees of freedom to control the process.

Conserved structural motifs in PAS, LOV, and CRY proteins regulate circadian rhythms and are therapeutic targets

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cryptochrome and PAS/LOV proteins play intricate roles in circadian clocks where they act as both sensors and mediators of protein–protein interactions. Their ubiquitous presence in signaling networks has positioned them as targets for small‐molecule therapeutics. This review provides a structural introduction to these protein families.

Adenosine‐to‐inosine editing of miR‐200b‐3p is associated with the progression of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A‐to‐I editing of miRNAs, particularly miR‐200b‐3p, contributes to HGSOC progression by enhancing cancer cell proliferation, migration and 3D growth. The edited form is linked to poorer patient survival and the identification of novel molecular targets.

Applying an Ethical Lens to the Treatment of People With Multiple Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The practice of neurology requires an understanding of clinical ethics for decision‐making. In multiple sclerosis (MS) care, there are a wide range of ethical considerations that may arise. These involve shared decision‐making around selection of a disease‐modifying therapy (DMT), risks and benefits of well‐studied medications in comparison to
