Multifunctional biological activities of water extract of housefly larvae ( Musca domestica )

PharmaNutrition, 2017
Abstract Many types of insects have been used as foods and protein sources. In this study, we investigated the usefulness of housefly larvae (Musca domestica) based on their amino acid composition and multifunctional biological activities. First, the utility of the amino acid composition of housefly larvae was evaluated by amino acid analysis ...

In vitro metabolism of pyriproxyfen by microsomes from susceptible and resistant housefly larvae

Archives of Insect Biochemistry and Physiology, 1998
Levels of cytochrome P450 and b5 were investigated in microsomal enzymes of houseflies from the gut and fat body of the third instar larvae of a pyriproxyfen-resistant strain (YPPF) and two pyriproxyfen-susceptible strains (YS and SRS). In comparison to the YS and SRS strains, YPPF microsomes had higher levels of total cytochrome P450s in both the gut ...

[Effects of ultrasound induction on genomic DNA of housefly larvae].

Guang pu xue yu guang pu fen xi = Guang pu, 2010
The genomic DNA of housefly larvae was extracted after ultrasound induction, and the structure was analyzed by UV, fluorescence, IR and 1H NMR. The 3'-end of attacin gene was sequenced and compared by means of PCR. All the results indicated that ultrasound induction can destroy the second structure and the base stacking of genomic DNA of housefly ...

Cytochromes purified from the larva, pupa and adult housefly, Musca domestica L.

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta, 1963
Abstract Cytochrome c was isolated from larvae, pupae and adults of the housefly, Musca domestica L., and highly purified. The properties of housefly cytochrome c did not vary during metamorphosis. Although housefly cytochrome c was similar to mammalian cytochrome c in several properties, it differed in that it was precipitated by saturated

The relationship between phosphatide serine and ethanolamine in larvae of the housefly, Musca domestica

Journal of Insect Physiology, 1967
Abstract The incorporation of l -[3- 14 C] serine into the phosphatides of Musca domestica larvae was examined in vivo , and of this compound and [2- 14 C] ethanolamine in vitro using whole fat body preparations. Rapid incorporation, probably by an exchange reaction, was observed in both cases.
