Improvement in Facial Wrinkles Using Materials Enhancing PPARGC1B Expression Related to Mitochondrial Function

open access: yesCurrent Issues in Molecular Biology
Skin aging is an unavoidable natural phenomenon caused by intrinsic and extrinsic factors. In modern society, the pursuit of a wrinkle-free and aesthetically appealing face has gained considerable prominence. Numerous studies have aimed at mitigating the

Household Choices in Equilibrium [PDF]

open access: yesEconometrica, 1987
This paper is an empirical investigation of equilibrium restrictions on household consumption and male labor supply. It exploits a simple factor structure, rationalized by two assumptions, that household allocations are Pareto optimal and that the labor market is competitive.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Distinctive Gene Expression Profiles and Biological Responses of Skin Fibroblasts to Nicotinamide Mononucleotide: Implications for Longevity Effects on Skin

open access: yesBiomedicines
Background/Objectives: Enhancement of cellular NAD+ mediated by NMN has emerged as a pivotal strategy in modulating the aging process. This study aimed to systematically investigate the anti-aging effects of NMN on human skin fibroblasts, focusing on how

Poverty and Household Size [PDF]

open access: yesThe Economic Journal, 1995
The widely held view that larger families tend to be poorer in developing countries has influenced research and policy. The scope for size economies in consumption cautions against this view. The authors find that the correlation between poverty and size vanishes in Pakistan when the size elasticity of the cost of living is about 0-6. This turns out to

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Image based quantification method reveals differential patterns of lip desquamation associated with age and sex

open access: yesScientific Reports
The rough surface of lip skin is a dermatological and aesthetic issue that affects facial appearance. While several studies have addressed this common problem, none of them have exclusively utilized image analysis techniques.
