Repetitive sequence environment distinguishes housekeeping genes [PDF]
Housekeeping genes are expressed across a wide variety of tissues. Since repetitive sequences have been reported to influence the expression of individual genes, we employed a novel approach to determine whether housekeeping genes can be distinguished from tissue-specific genes by their repetitive sequence context.

Statistical modeling for selecting housekeeper genes [PDF]
Statistical models are presented for selecting the best housekeepers to normalize quantitative data within a given tissue type and across different types of tissue samples. There is a need for statistical methods to identify genes that have minimal variation in expression across a variety of experimental conditions.

Using ribosomal protein genes as reference: a tale of caution. [PDF]
BACKGROUND: Housekeeping genes are needed in every tissue as their expression is required for survival, integrity or duplication of every cell. Housekeeping genes commonly have been used as reference genes to normalize gene expression data, the ...

GAPDH as housekeeping gene at renal level [PDF]
To the Editor: In mRNA quantitative studies, choosing a reliable internal control is mandatory for monitoring intersample variations and comparing target RNA levels if assays are performed in different experimental sessions and come from different centers.

Isolation of Housekeeping Genes on Durik-durik (Syzygium sp)
Housekeeping gene is a gene expressed with a fixed level and in abundant amounts under various conditions. After validation, the housekeeping gene can be used as an internal control to normalize gene expression data.
