Chiral Separations by HPLC [PDF]
Chirality arises in many molecules from the presence of a tetrahedral carbon with four different substituents. However, the presence of such atoms in a molecule is not a necessary condition for chirality. An object is said to be chiral if it is not superposable with its mirror image and achiral when the object and its mirror image are superposable.

HPLC determination of niridazole
Talanta, 1990A high-performance liquid chromatographic method has been developed for the determination of niridazole in bulk form and in pharmaceutical dosage form. A reversed-phase system, based on an octadecylsilane-bonded stationary phase and a 60:40 v/v methanol/water mobile phase, is used.

For identification of the components present, gradient elution with a convex profile from 35:65 v/v water-methanol to pure methanol is used, on a Waters 5 mum C(18) Resolve column, with an ultraviolet detector.
