Preparation of vermiculites for HRTEM
Clay Minerals, 1989AbstractA technique for preparing vermiculites for examination by high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) has been developed. A TEM-stable expanded phase can be obtained by intercalating n-alkylammonium ions between the silicate layers of a parent biotite.

Unsupervised segmentation algorithm of hrtem images
2004 International Conference on Image Processing, 2004. ICIP '04., 2005We propose a new unsupervised segmentation algorithm for high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) images of nanocomposite materials. The proposed algorithm overcomes two major artefacts affecting these images, high level of noise and nonuniform illumination.

The S-state model: a work horse for HRTEM
Ultramicroscopy, 2002The S-state model describes the dynamical scattering of electrons in a specimen foil, consisting of atom columns parallel to the beam direction, such as a crystal or a particular crystal defect. In this model the electrons are considered to be trapped in the electrostatic potential of an atom column, in which it scatters dynamically.

HRTEM simulation of amorphous materials
Proceedings, annual meeting, Electron Microscopy Society of America, 1990Image simulation has become one of the preferred techniques for analysis of high-resolution transmission electron micrographs, in both bright-field and dark-field modes. This is especially true of microscope images used in stuctural studies, both for perfect crystal structures, and for defects within periodic structures.

Quantitative HRTEM investigation of nanoplatelets
Micron, 2010High resolution transmission electron microscopy experiments were performed to investigate nanoplatelets induced by ion implantation into a germanium wafer. Atomistic models were used for image simulation in order to get quantitative information from the experimental images.

Quantitative HRTEM study of zeolite
Microporous and Mesoporous Materials, 1998Abstract We demonstrate the application of a new technique of high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) study, which is assisted by a quantitative measurement of electron diffraction intensities using a slow-scan CCD camera, to the structure analysis of zeolite frameworks as well as materials incorporated in their micropores. SAED and HRTEM Investigation of Palygorskite
Acta Geologica Sinica - English Edition, 2008Abstract: The microstructure of palygorskite from Longwang Mountain of Xuyu County, Jiangsu Province, was studied by energy dispersive X‐ray analysis (EDX), selected‐area electron diffraction (SAED) and high‐resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM). The average composition of the palygorskite studied is (Si7.38Al0.62) (Al0.96Fe3+0.62Mg2.86□0.
