The Effects of Bromelain Supplementation on Clinical Outcomes, Inflammatory and Oxidative Stress Biomarkers in Patients With Traumatic Brain Injury: A Randomized, Double‐Blind Placebo‐Controlled Clinical Trial

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 8, August 2026.
Bromelain supplementation significantly reduced IL‐6 levels (p < 0.001), APACHE scores (p = 0.011), SOFA scores (p < 0.001), and NUTRIC scores (p < 0.001). Furthermore, 60‐day mortality was significantly lower in the Bromelain group compared to the Placebo group (p = 0.036). However, there was no significant effect on CRP (p = 0.377) or MDA levels (p =

Unraveling the Impact of Serum Zinc Levels on Chronic Kidney Disease: Machine Learning and SHAP Value Interpretation

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 8, August 2026.
Using nationally representative NHANES 2011–2016 data, this cross‐sectional study included 4192 U.S. adults, of whom 685 had prevalent chronic kidney disease (CKD). Survey‐weighted logistic regression showed that higher serum zinc levels were associated with lower odds of prevalent CKD.

Vitamin E‐Related Molecular Signatures in Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis: A Hypothesis‐Generating Multi‐Omics Analysis

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 8, August 2026.
Integrative analysis of plasma miRNA data (GSE235203) and BM‐MSC transcriptomic data (GSE110359), combined with database‐derived VE/tocopherol target mapping, prioritized SOD1, GCLC, PTGS1, PTGS2, and KDR. Single‐cell localization, CellChat analysis, structural simulation, NHANES contextualization, and GSE286204 supported hypothesis‐generating links to

Two‐Point Change Patterns of LDL‐Cholesterol and hs‐CRP and Risk of Major Adverse Cardiovascular Events in Middle‐Aged and Older Chinese Adults: A Prospective Cohort Study

open access: yesHealth Science Reports, Volume 9, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims The associations of two‐point change patterns of low‐density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL‐C) and high‐sensitivity C‐reactive protein (hs‐CRP) with major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) remain underexplored, particularly in Chinese populations.
