Mixed lineage kinase 3 mediates SARS‐CoV‐2‐induced kidney injury via the Hsp70‐IL‐17A axis
Kidney samples from patients infected with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS‑CoV‑2) showed upregulated expression and activity of Mixed Lineage Kinase (MLK3). Based on the mechanistic studies, we identified MLK3 as a critical player in promoting SARS‐CoV‐2‐induced kidney injury.

Archaeal group II chaperonins, also known as heat shock proteins (HSPs), are abundantly expressed in Sulfolobales. HSPα and HSPβ gene expression is upregulated during thermal shock. HSPs form large 18-mer complexes that assist in folding nascent proteins

Abstract This is the first report of endoscopic ischemic polypectomy (EIP) for small intestinal polyps in a pediatric patient with juvenile polyposis syndrome (JPS). A 7‐year‐old girl underwent double‐balloon enteroscopy, during which 17 pedunculated polyps were treated using the crossed‐clip strangulation method without complications. Ten‐month follow‐

Salt‐induced nutritional and metabolic shifts in halophytes: implications for food security
Abstract Plant species vary in their response to salinity: some crops show a degree of salt tolerance, while halophytes – whether wild or cultivated – are characterized by a high capacity to thrive under saline conditions. Halophytes are considered a source of valuable secondary metabolites with potential economic value, yet they might also produce ...

Abstract BACKGROUND Inhibitors of angiotensin‐converting enzyme (ACE) are used in pharmaceuticals and functional foods. Captopril, a well‐known ACE inhibitor, extends the lifespan of the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans. Bioactive peptides derived from food sources are considered safe ACE inhibitors.

SEC and native gel analysis of HspSP-ShM2 and HspS-WH7803 oligomeric species.
Each sHSP was analyzed at two different concentrations, 30 μM (solid line) and 60 μM (dotted line). A) HspSP-ShM2 first peak (*) elution volume is equivalent to ~ 600 kDa (32mer) and the second one (**) to ~ 200 kDa (dodecamer).

ABSTRACT This study tested whether combined dapagliflozin (DAPA) and melatonin (Mel) therapy was superior to merely one for ameliorating the left ventricular (LV) fibrosis/remodeling and improving LV ejection fraction (LVEF) in rats after acute myocardial infarction (AMI). In vitro study demonstrated that DAPA treatment significantly suppressed the TGF‐

Heat shock proteins in hypothermia: a review
Hypothermia is a serious condition marked by a significant decrease in core body temperature, posing considerable risks to biological systems. In response to thermal stress, cells activate protective mechanisms, often synthesizing heat shock proteins ...
