A cryogenic dc-dc power converter for a 100kW synchronous HTS generator at liquid nitrogen temperatures [PDF]
A dc-dc converter has been developed for retrofitting inside the vacuum space of the HTS rotor of a synchronous generator. The heavy copper sections of the current leads used for energising the HTS field winding were replaced by cryogenic power ...

Simulation of Dynamic Resistance and Total Loss of HTS CORC Cables
In some high temperature superconducting (HTS) applications, HTS coated conductors carry DC current under external AC magnetic fields. Dynamic resistance occurs when the amplitude of the magnetic field is greater than the threshold magnetic field of the ...

Magnetization of the stack of HTS tapes
New results of dependence of magnetic field, trapped by a stack of HTS tapes, on amount of tapes in a stack are reported. Commercial GdBCO tape 12 mm width and without Cu layer was used for the research. Tape was divided in square pieces 12 x 12 mm 2 from which stacks were formed. Filling factor of the tape was about 1.4%. Measurements were carried out

New symmetric and lattice shaped high-temperature superconducting coil cross sections
To improve the performances of high-temperature superconducting (HTS) coils, it is necessary to store more energy within a shorter HTS tape length and to reduce leakage magnetic fields.
