HTS toroidal helical transformer

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2008
The paper describes novel HTS toroidal transformer with helical windings, operating at 50 Hz. The turns of outer winding are parallel to turns of inner one. This arrangement of windings results in the same length and shape of each turn. The latter ensures homogeneous distribution of flux density.

Modeling the current distribution in HTS tapes with transport current and applied magnetic field [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
A numerical model is developed for the current distribution in a high temperature superconducting (HTS) tape, (Bi,Pb)2Sr2 Ca2Cu3Ox-Ag, subjected to a combination of a transport current and an applied magnetic field.

A Study on a Single-Phase HTS Transformer with a Cylindrical Central Iron Core

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
During the past decade, a number of high temperature superconducting (HTS) transformer prototypes have been designed, and the majority of them are full-core transformers and air-core transformers.

Characterizing Uncertain Outcomes with the Restricted HT Transformation

open access: yesJournal of Agricultural and Applied Economics, 2002
Restrictions on the hyperbolic trigonometric (HT) transformation are imposed to guarantee that a probability density function is obtained from maximum likelihood estimation. Performance of the restricted HT transformation using data generated from normal, beta, gamma, logistic, log-normal, Pareto, Weibull, order statistic, and bimodal populations is ...

New Perspectives in HTS Transformer Design

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2006
Power transformers based on High Temperature Superconductors (HTS) technology are an appealing promise for several practical applications. The present designs still leave wide margins of possible improvement in terms of both layout optimisation and introduction of new technologies. In the framework of a technical-scientific cooperation among scientific

HTS quasiparticle injection devices with large current gain at 77 K [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
Recent progress on the development of planar QP-injection devices using YBCO and STO as an epitaxial injection barrier will be discussed. The main problem for HTS injection devices is to grow reliably a well defined, ultra-thin tunneling barrier suitable

THE REVIEW OF THE CONDITION OF BRANCH OF TRANSFORMER MANUFACTURE AND TENDENCIES OF DEVELOPMENT OF THE DESIGN OF POWER TRANSFORMERS

open access: yesИзвестия высших учебных заведений: Проблемы энергетики, 2018
Manufacturers and consumers of transformers rather conservatively concern all innovations in transformer manufacture since in power distributive transformers are inherent long term of the operation, essential cost and a purchasing cycle.

Analysis of energy dissipation in resistive superconducting fault-current limiters for optimal power system performance [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Fault levels in electrical distribution systems are rising due to the increasing presence of distributed generation, and this rising trend is expected to continue in the future.

Development and test of resistive superconducting fault current limiter; acting time and its recovery conditions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Resistive-type of superconducting fault current limiters (RSFCL) have been developed for medium voltage class aiming to operate at 1 MVA power capacity and short time recovery (< 2 s).
