Key differences between HTTP/1.0 and HTTP/1.1
Computer Networks, 1999Abstract The HTTP/1.1 protocol is the result of four years of discussion and debate among a broad group of Web researchers and developers. It improves upon its phenomenally successful predecessor, HTTP/1.0, in numerous ways. We discuss the differences between HTTP/1.0 and HTTP/1.1, as well as some of the rationale behind these changes.

The HTTP protocol, as currently used in the World Wide Web, uses a separate TCP connection for each file requested. This adds significant and unnecessary overhead, especially in the number of network round trips required. We analyze the costs of this approach and propose simple modifications to HTTP that, while interoperating with unmodified ...

IEEE Communications Letters, 2001
In this letter, the authors show that the behavior of Web users strongly affects the dynamics of TCP connections in the Internet. Analyzing actual and systematically generated HTTP traces, it is proved that the time between the downloads of two pages is critical to determine the re-utilization of connections.

In this paper, we discuss the possibility of finding phishing attacks even in cases where the victim sees in their web browser, the same URL as the legitimate website with the padlock and the HTTPS certificate. This attack is not easy to detect due to the fact that it complies with security measures as a legitimate HTTPS connection. We perform the ...

HTTPS Keys in the Mediterranean
2019 II Workshop on Metrology for Industry 4.0 and IoT (MetroInd4.0&IoT), 2019Internet banking, online shopping, and many other internet services use Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) with digital certificates in a public key infrastructure (PKI) to authenticate and guarantee security and privacy. This work presents an analysis of the cryptographic asymmetric algorithms used in the digital certificates. Indeed, we found
