The fuzzy reliable hub location problem
2010 Annual Meeting of the North American Fuzzy Information Processing Society, 2010A Hub Location Problem (HLP) deals with finding the locations of hub facilities and assignment of demand nodes to established facilities. Due to special characteristics of HLP, the overall performance of the network highly depends on proper performance of hubs. Therefore, the design of reliable networks is a critical issue to be considered.

The gateway hub location problem
Journal of Air Transport Management, 2018Abstract We introduce the Gateway Hub Location Problem (GHLP) to design global air transportation systems. Relying on a three-level hub network structure and on having nodes located in different geographic regions, the GHLP consists of locating international gateways and domestic hubs, activating arcs to induce a connected gateway and hub network ...

Sustainable and Flexible Hub Location Problem
2023 International Conference On Cyber Management And Engineering (CyMaEn), 2023This paper addresses a flexible and sustainable hub network design problem that considers integrated strategic decisions related to hub location, transportation network configuration, and environmental protection. The proposed approach is based on a multi-objective model, consisting in minimizing the economic cost of the carbon footprint related to hub

One of the novel topics in location problems is the hub location problem. There are plenty of applications for the hub location problem; therefore, this section is dedicated to introducing this problem to readers. The preface is composed of three parts: apprehensions, definitions, and classifications of the hub location problem.

The tree of hubs location problem with inter-hub stopovers.
2022The Physical Internet (PI) has emerged as a promising paradigm to increase the sustainability of logistics network while preserving their efficiency. PI logistics systems emulate the principles of the digital internet to establish highly interconnected and collaborative networks to make better use of the resources.

This paper presents the hub line location problem in which the location of a set of hub facilities connected by means of a path (or line) is considered. Potential applications arise in the design of public transportation and rapid transit systems, where network design costs greatly dominate routing costs and thus full interconnection of hub facilities

Dynamic Virtual Hub Location Problem
Advanced Materials Research, 2012A controversial issue in the planning of air transportation networks is inclement weather. In this situation, hub facilities would not be able to provide a good service to their spoke nodes temporarily. Thus, some other kinds of predetermined underutilized facilities in the network are used as virtual hubs to host some or all connections of original ...

Lower Bounds for the Hub Location Problem
Management Science, 1995We present a new lower bound for the Hub Location Problem (HLP) where distances satisfy the triangle inequality. Our lower bound is based on a linearization of the problem and its modification obtained by incorporating the knowledge of a known heuristic solution.
