Adenovirus 36 DNA in human adipose tissue [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Obesity, 2015
Recent studies have suggested a possible correlation between obesity and adenovirus 36 (Adv36) infection in humans. As information on adenoviral DNA presence in human adipose tissue are limited, we evaluated the presence of Adv36 DNA in adipose tissue of 21 adult overweight or obese patients. Total DNA was extracted from adipose tissue biopsies.

Adenoviral based gene therapy for cancer in human and animals: a review [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Adenovirus vector is the most common used vector in clinical gene therapy. The development of adenovirus from the first generation until the helper-dependent adenovirus vector has greatly reduced toxicity and immunogenicity.

Adenovirus vector-specific T cells demonstrate a unique memory phenotype with high proliferative potential and coexpression of CCR5 and integrin α\(_4\)β\(_7\) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Background: The Step Study was a randomized trial to reduce HIV infection through vaccination with an adenovirus type 5-based gag/pol/nef construct; analysis following early cessation of the trial revealed an excess of HIV seroconversion in Ad5 ...

Human Adenovirus Surveillance — United States, 2003–2016 [PDF]

open access: yesMMWR. Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report, 2017
Human adenoviruses (HAdVs) are nonenveloped, double-stranded DNA viruses in the family Adenoviridae; seven species (A-G) and >60 genotypes are known to cause human infection (1). Clinical manifestations associated with HAdV infection include fever, acute respiratory illness, gastroenteritis, and conjunctivitis.

Fluorescence-guided surgery of a highly-metastatic variant of human triple-negative breast cancer targeted with a cancer-specific GFP adenovirus prevents recurrence. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We have previously developed a genetically-engineered GFP-expressing telomerase-dependent adenovirus, OBP-401, which can selectively illuminate cancer cells.

Survivin a radiogenetic promoter for glioblastoma viral gene therapy independently from CArG motifs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
BACKGROUND: Radiogenetic therapy is a novel approach in the treatment of cancer, which employs genetic modification to alter the sensitivity of tumor cells to the effect of applied radiation.

open access: yesObesity Research, 1997
AbstractDHURANDHAR, NIKHIL V, PUSHPA R KULKARNI, SHARAD M AJINKYA, ABHAYA A SHERIKAR, RICHARD L ATKINSON. Association of adenovirus infection with human obesity. We previously reported that chickens infected with the avian adenovirus SMAM‐1 developed a unique syndrome characterized by excessive intra‐abdominal fat deposition accompanied by paradoxically

Human Adenovirus Associated with Severe Respiratory Infection, Oregon, USA, 2013–2014

open access: yesEmerging Infectious Diseases, 2016
Several human adenoviruses (HAdVs) can cause respiratory infections, some severe. HAdV-B7, which can cause severe respiratory disease, has not been recently reported in the United States but is reemerging in Asia.
