Human adenovirus load in respiratory tract secretions are predictors for disease severity in children with human adenovirus pneumonia [PDF]

Glioblastoma (GBM) exhibits RFX7 silencing via promoter hypermethylation, which downregulates PIK3IP1 to activate PI3K/AKT signaling, increase lactate accumulation, and enhance histone H4K12 lactylation. This lactylation upregulates PD‐L1/CSF1 expression and drives the immunosuppressive microenvironment formation.

YB-1 dependent oncolytic adenovirus efficiently inhibits tumor growth of glioma cancer stem like cells [PDF]
Background: The brain cancer stem cell (CSC) model describes a small subset of glioma cells as being responsible for tumor initiation, conferring therapy resistance and tumor recurrence.

Smart Nanotechnologies for Multimodal Neuromodulation and Brain Interfacing
Recent advances in smart nanotechnologies are expanding the toolbox for brain interfacing, from wireless neuromodulation and high‐resolution sensing to targeted delivery within the central nervous system. By combining responsive nanomaterials with bioinspired design, these platforms enable multimodal interactions with neurons and glia, while also ...

Mechanosensitive Piezo1/Osteocalcin/Irisin Axis Protects Against Disuse‐Induced Muscle Atrophy
Mechanical unloading suppresses bone Piezo1 expression, which reduces circulating undercarboxylated osteocalcin (unOCN). unOCN reduction subsequently exacerbates IMM‐induced Fndc5/Irisin decrease and drives severe muscle atrophy. Bone Piezo1 activation or exogenous osteocalcin/Irisin ameliorate muscle atrophy, while muscle‐specific Gprc6a or Fndc5 ...

Abstract Neonatal acute liver failure (ALF) carries a high mortality rate; however, little data exist on its peritransplant hospital course. This project aimed to identify factors associated with outcomes in neonates with ALF using large multicenter databases.

Engineering Oncolytic Virus‐Armed Macrophages for Enhanced Cancer Immunotherapy
ZIFOA‐M is engineered by conjugating oncolytic adenovirus‐loaded ZIF‐8 nanoparticles onto macrophage surfaces via bioorthogonal chemistry. Upon tumor infiltration, the platform releases OA to downregulate CD47/CD24 on tumor cells, restoring macrophage phagocytosis.

Human Adenovirus Associated with Severe Respiratory Infection, Oregon, USA, 2013–2014
Several human adenoviruses (HAdVs) can cause respiratory infections, some severe. HAdV-B7, which can cause severe respiratory disease, has not been recently reported in the United States but is reemerging in Asia.

Conserved sequences of the adenovirus genome for detection of all human adenovirus types by hybridization [PDF]
The application of DNA hybridization directly to clinical specimens has the potential of improving the diagnosis of fastidious types of adenovirus. In this study, the genome of one adenovirus type from each human subgenus (A to F) was systematically evaluated by hybridization for homologous sequences to find the optimal common probe for detection of ...
