Human bone cellsin vitro

Calcified Tissue International, 1985
Human bone cell cultures were established by maintaining collagenase-treated bone fragments in low Ca++ medium. The resulting cell cultures exhibited a high level of alkaline phosphatase activity and produced a significant increase in intracellular cAMP when exposed to the 1-34 fragment of human parathyroid hormone.

Bone Regeneration by Grafting of Cultured Human Bone

Tissue Engineering, 2004
A 3-mL sample of bone marrow was collected from the iliac bones of 27 orthopedic patients (8 men and 19 women with a mean age of 56.1 years [range, 17 to 76 years]), followed by culture in standard culture medium (minimal essential medium containing 15% fetal bovine serum).

Harvest of human bone marrow directly from bone

Journal of Immunological Methods, 1984
Harvest of human bone marrow directly from freshly resected bone provides purer preparations of marrow than can be obtained by the conventional technique of multiple aspirations from the iliac crests. In particular, directly harvested marrow is much less heavily contaminated with peripheral blood lymphocytes, a known source of mature T cells.

Micromegakaryocytes in Human Bone Marrow

Acta Haematologica, 1980
Micromegakaryocytes (MMK) were defined morphologically by the cell area, nucleus form and cytoplasmic structure. Bone marrow smears of 7,156 patients were retrospectively analyzed. MMK were found most frequently and abundantly in acute non-lymphatic leukaemia, chronic myeloid leukaemia and pre-leukaemia.
