Endogenous Ceramide 24:1 Constrains Th17‐Driven Neutrophilic Inflammation by Antagonizing EP2 Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Cer24:1 levels are reduced in neutrophilic asthma and inversely correlate with disease severity and airway neutrophilia. Restoring Cer24:1 suppresses pathogenic Th17 differentiation by engaging EP2 on CD4+ T cells, thereby dampening the JAK2–STAT3–RORγt axis and reducing IL‐17 production.

Real Options and Human Capital Investment [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper extends the standard human capital model with real options. Real options influence investment behavior when risky investments in human capital are irreversible and individuals can affect the timing of the investment.

Measuring Aggregate Human Capital [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper we construct a set of human capital indexes for the states of the United States for each Census year starting in 1940. In order to do so, we propose a new methodology for the construction of index numbers in panel data sets.

Recognizing Risk in Human Capital Investments: A Real Options Approach to Strategic Human Resource Management [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
An issue that has not yet been explored in the field of strategic human resource management (SHRM) is that of managing the ‘risks’ involved in human capital management of the firm. We address this issue using the real option theory framework.

Liquid Metal Nanotransformers for Drug‐Resistant Pan‐Cancer Therapy in Patient‐Derived Organoids

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Pan‐cancer therapies are severely limited in drug‐resistance patients due to genetic mutations and other factors, resulting in poor therapeutic outcomes and constrained clinical benefit. Liquid metal nanotransformers, a new class of shape‐transformable nanomaterials capable of dramatic morphological changes, offer a promising physical strategy to ...

Chemically Engineered L. reuteri Delivering αPD‐L1 and Gallium Ions via Metal‐Phenolic Networks Potentiate Anti‐Tumor Immunity and Ferroptosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A multifaceted chemical strategy, integrating bacterial tropism, metal‐ion interference therapy, and immunotherapy, resulted in significant tumor regression in murine models. A pioneering paradigm for the design of biohybrid materials was established, highlighting how sophisticated chemical engineering of living systems can unlock new avenues for ...

Endogenous Growth and Parental Funding of Education in an OLG Model with a Fixed Factor [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper examines the stationary state income level and income growth in an overlapping generations (OLG) model in which production uses three inputs: physical capital, human capital and land.

BZW1 Drives Immune Evasion in Lung Adenocarcinoma via Ferroptosis Suppression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
BZW1 attenuates ferroptosis by competitively binding NCOA4 and suppress ferrtinophagy‐mediated iron release. The depletion of BZW1 triggers lipid peroxidation through iron homeostasis. Extracellularly, BZW1 attenuates immunogenic cell death and reinvigorates cytotoxic T‐cell responses.
