Motility Evaluation of Human Spermatozoa [PDF]
In this contribution we investigate the applicability of photon correlation techniques as a clinical tool for the evaluation of motility parameters of undiluted human sperm. Measurements on semen samples, selected visually for ‘good’ motility, yielded reproducible estimates of the fraction motile spermatozoa and the mean speed of the motile cells.

On the pharmacological evaluation of bisphosphonates in humans [PDF]
One of the key parameters for a successful treatment with any drug is the use of an optimal dose regimen. Bisphosphonates (BPs) have been in clinical use for over five decades and during this period clinical pharmacokinetic (PK) and pharmacodynamic (PD) evaluations have been instrumental for the identification of optimal dose regimens in patients ...

Evaluating and Characterizing Human Rationales [PDF]
Two main approaches for evaluating the quality of machine-generated rationales are: 1) using human rationales as a gold standard; and 2) automated metrics based on how rationales affect model behavior. An open question, however, is how human rationales fare with these automatic metrics.

Evaluation of Arterial Compliance in Humans

The Authenticity Gap in Human Evaluation
Human ratings are the gold standard in NLG evaluation. The standard protocol is to collect ratings of generated text, average across annotators, and rank NLG systems by their average scores. However, little consideration has been given as to whether this approach faithfully captures human preferences.

Morphometric evaluation of the human prostate [PDF]
In order to clarify the ageing‐related histological changes in the human prostate, a quantitative morphometric analysis was performed. Complete prostates were obtained at autopsy from 281 men (aged 20–84 years) who died in traffic accidents and presented no clinical symptoms of prostatic disease. The prostates were classified as: histologically normal (
