Listeriosis In Humans: An Evaluation
The Journal of Infectious Diseases, 1971Infection of man with Listeria monocytogenes was first described in 1929 [1], and in recent years it has been reported with increasing frequency.1 L. monocytogenes has been isolated and identified in many species of animals [2] and it was first thought that non-human hosts were the principal source for human infections.

Evaluation of isolated human hepatocytes
Life Sciences, 1983This preliminary study reports the functional capacities of freshly isolated human hepatocytes in regard to their energetic metabolism and monooxygenase activities. Incubated for 30 or 60 min, isolated cells maintain their membrane integrity, ATP and reduced glutathione content and redox potential estimated by means of lactate to pyruvate and beta ...

Evaluation of human diaphragm fatigue
Journal of Applied Physiology, 1982The time course of the frequency content of the electromyogram (EMG) was studied in the diaphragm of five normal subjects breathing through high inspiratory resistance. The ratio between the power content of a high-frequency band (150– Hz) (H) and a low-frequency band (20http://hwmaint.jap.physiology.org/cgi/content/abstract/53/4/99240 Hz) (L) was ...

The Human Efficiency Evaluator
2017With more and more systems and machines operating autonomously, the role of the operator is changing from “being actively in control” to “monitor and intervene”. Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) therefore need to be optimized so that they can efficiently be monitored by a human.

ABSTRACT To the Editor.— I should like to comment on the LETTER of McCrae (216:679,1971). It is true that man has certain basic inherited patterns of behavior that have come down to him from his subhuman animal ancestry. Evolutionary theory and the common observations of behavioral science confirm this.

ABSTRACT This paper arises out of a concern that, in spite of the amount of work which has been done in the area of evaluation in the humanities, there has not been enough clarification of the kind of ‘knowledge’ or ‘experience’ which the humanities may be said to yield. It is of vital importance that more of this essential clarification be done before
