Human endogenous retroviruses (HERVs) are the remnants of viral infections that occurred in our ancestors, subsequently integrated into the human genome. They make up about 8% of the human genome. Increased HERV expression occurs in physiological and pathological conditions, especially neurological diseases.

Background Myelodysplastic syndromes (MDSs) are clonal hematopoietic disorders often associated with cytogenetic abnormalities, among which trisomy 8 is one of the most common abnormalities. Trisomy 8 is linked to autoimmune manifestations, including Behçet‐like disease, especially with gastrointestinal involvement.

Amomum is a diverse genus whose metabolites are dominated by volatile compounds; however, differences in metabolism levels between fresh and dried fruits remain unclear. Our results indicated that metabolite differences between fresh and dried fruits were expressed in relative content rather than in species.
