Human leptospirosis in Thailand
Transactions of the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, 1966Abstract The results are reported of a serological investigation into the occurrence of leptospirosis in the general population throughout Thailand. Positive agglutination reactions for various serotypes of pathogenic leptospires were found in 22–35% of the 3746 people examined. The highest incidence occurred in south Thailand.

Immunodiagnosis of human leptospirosis using saliva
Transactions of the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, 1992When the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the detection of specific immunoglobulin M class antibodies was applied to paired saliva and serum samples from 40 patients with leptospirosis, positivity was 87.5% and 100%, respectively. No positive result was obtained with any saliva or serum sample from 60 individuals used as controls.
