Characterization of the Urinary Metagenome and Virome in Healthy Children

open access: yesBiomedicines, 2022
Recent advances in next-generation sequencing and metagenomic studies have provided insights into the microbial profile of different body sites. However, research on the microbial composition of urine is limited, particularly in children.

Multiple divergent Human mastadenovirus C co-circulating in mainland of China

open access: yesInfection, Genetics and Evolution, 2019
The human mastadenovirus C (HAdV-C) cause respiratory infections in children. Homologous recombination was clearly involved in the molecular evolution of HAdV-A, B, and D, but little is known about the molecular evolution of HAdV-C. From 2000 to 2016, 201 HAdV-C strains were collected from nine provinces covering six administrative regions of mainland ...

VIROSES ENTÉRICAS: PRINCIPAIS PATOLOGIAS DE VEICULAÇÃO HÍDRICA E SUAS MANIFESTAÇÕES CLÍNICAS

open access: yesConhecimento Online, 2020
Vírus entéricos podem causar diversas infecções que acometem os seres humanos e são disseminados pelos meios hídricos, sendo o esgoto doméstico um dos principais contaminantes.

Metagenomic detection and characterisation of multiple viruses in apparently healthy Australian Neophema birds

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
Emerging viral pathogens are a significant concern, with potential consequences for human, animal and environmental health. Over the past several decades, many novel viruses have been found in animals, including birds, and often pose a significant threat

Human mastadenovirus type 70: a novel, multiple recombinant species D mastadenovirus isolated from diarrhoeal faeces of a haematopoietic stem cell transplantation recipient

open access: yesJournal of General Virology, 2015
A human mastadenovirus D (HAdV-D) isolated from diarrhoeal faeces of an allogeneic haematopoietic stem cell transplant (SCT) recipient was found to be non-typable by sequencing of loops 1 and 2 of the hexon main neutralization epitope ('imputed serology'). In contrast to HAdV-C, HAdV-D infections are rarely observed in SCT patients.

The complete genome sequence of human adenovirus 84, a highly recombinant new Human mastadenovirus D type with a unique fiber gene [PDF]

open access: yesVirus Research, 2017
A novel human adenovirus was isolated from a pediatric case of acute respiratory disease in Panama City, Panama in 2011. The clinical isolate was initially identified as an intertypic recombinant based on hexon and fiber gene sequencing. Based on the analysis of its complete genome sequence, the novel complex recombinant Human mastadenovirus D (HAdV-D)

Metagenomic Investigation of Ticks From Kenyan Wildlife Reveals Diverse Microbial Pathogens and New Country Pathogen Records

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2022
Focusing on the utility of ticks as xenosurveillance sentinels to expose circulating pathogens in Kenyan drylands, host-feeding ticks collected from wild ungulates [buffaloes, elephants, giraffes, hartebeest, impala, rhinoceros (black and white), zebras (

Using Whole Genome Sequences to Investigate Adenovirus Outbreaks in a Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant Unit

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2021
A recent surge in human mastadenovirus (HAdV) cases, including five deaths, amongst a haematopoietic stem cell transplant population led us to use whole genome sequencing (WGS) to investigate.

Viruses in food products

open access: yesНауковий вісник Львівського національного університету ветеринарної медицини та біотехнологій імені С.З. Ґжицького: Серія Ветеринарні науки, 2021
Data on viral food contaminants that are actually or potentially capable of realizing the food route of infection are presented. The main sources of infection of food with viruses are named: human waste / faeces, contaminated food processing facilities ...
