[Human metapneumovirus].

Pathologie-biologie, 2009
The human metapneumovirus (hMPV) is a new Pneumovirinae related to the avian metapneumovirus type C. hMPV genome differs from human respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) genome by the gene order and the lack of nonstructural genes. Two genetic sub-groups and four sub-types of hMPV are identified.

Human metapneumovirus in the community

The Lancet, 2003
In their recent report, J Stockton and colleagues identify the recently discovered human metapneumovirus (hMPV) in 1·3% of patients with influenza-like illness in the UK. About a year ago hMPV was discovered in young children with acute respiratory illness ranging from mild upper respiratory tract disease to severe bronchiolitis and pneumonia.
