In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Learning Silhouette Features for Control of Human Motion [PDF]
We present a vision-based performance interface for controlling animated human characters. The system interactively combines information about the user's motion contained in silhouettes from three viewpoints with domain knowledge contained in a motion ...

Dense 3D motion capture for human faces [PDF]
This paper proposes a novel approach to motion capture from multiple, synchronized video streams, specifically aimed at recording dense and accurate models of the structure and motion of highly deformable surfaces such as skin, that stretches, shrinks, and shears in the midst of normal facial expressions.

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

ActiveMoCap: Optimized Viewpoint Selection for Active Human Motion Capture
The accuracy of monocular 3D human pose estimation depends on the viewpoint from which the image is captured. While freely moving cameras, such as on drones, provide control over this viewpoint, automatically positioning them at the location which will ...

Emotion recognition using Kinect motion capture data of human gaits [PDF]
Automatic emotion recognition is of great value in many applications, however, to fully display the application value of emotion recognition, more portable, non-intrusive, inexpensive technologies need to be developed.

Automatic Identification of Inertial Sensors on the Human Body Segments [PDF]
In the last few years, inertial sensors (accelerometers and gyroscopes) in combination with magnetic sensors was proven to be a suitable ambulatory alternative to traditional human motion tracking systems based on optical position measurements.

3D performance capture for facial animation [PDF]
This work describes how a photogrammetry based 3D capture system can be used as an input device for animation. The 3D Dynamic Capture System is used to capture the motion of a human face, which is extracted from a sequence of 3D models captured at TV ...

Bone metastasis in prostate cancer (PCa) patients is a clinical hurdle due to the poor understanding of the supportive bone microenvironment. Here, we identify stearoyl‐CoA desaturase (SCD) as a tumor‐promoting enzyme and potential therapeutic target in bone metastatic PCa.
