Genetic variants of EcPV2 E6 and E7 in equine genital and oronasal squamous cell carcinoma

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Since its discovery in 2008, equine papillomavirus type 2 (EcPV2) has been detected in up to 100% of equine genital and up to 40% of equine oronasal squamous cell carcinomas (SCCs). Preliminary sequence data point to the existence of EcPV2 E6 and E7 oncogene variants compared to the British reference sequence from 2008.

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT All cases of invasive cervical cancer (ICC) and subsets of high‐grade cervical intraepithelial neoplasia grade 2 or 3 (CIN2/3) and adenocarcinoma in situ (AIS) in Norway are tested for 37 human papillomavirus (HPV) genotypes, within a mandatory national surveillance system.

p16 Overexpression and Human Papillomavirus Positivity in More Than 1000 Penile Cancers

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Penile cancer is a severe disease, and a large proportion is related to high‐risk (hr) human papillomavirus (HPV). P16 is used as an immunohistochemical marker of HPV in clinical diagnostics. Population‐based data on the prevalence of p16 in penile cancer is scarce.

Vaccinations in pregnancy: An update for a changing time

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, EarlyView.
Abstract Maternal immunization is one of the most effective public health interventions to reduce infectious morbidity and mortality in pregnant women, fetuses, and newborns. Despite robust evidence supporting vaccine safety and effectiveness in pregnancy, global uptake has declined following the COVID‐19 pandemic, contributing to resurgent outbreaks ...

Human papillomavirus vaccine effectiveness by age at vaccination: A systematic review

open access: yesHuman Vaccines & Immunotherapeutics, 2023
Human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccines work by preventing infections prior to natural exposure. Thus, it is likely more effective at younger ages, and it is important to understand how effectiveness might be diminished when administered at older ages.

Clearance of high‐risk human papillomavirus in patients with cervical intraepithelial neoplasia 2–3 after the loop electrosurgical excision procedure with negative resection margins

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective This study aims to evaluate the longitudinal clearance rates of high‐risk human papillomavirus (hr‐HPV) and the incidence of clinical recurrence (defined by abnormal cytology or histologically confirmed cervical intraepithelial neoplasia; CIN) at 6 and 18 months post‐loop electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP), characterizing the ...
