TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

A Human-Centered Design Approach for Collaborative Cyber-Physical Systems

open access: yesIEEE Access
Contemporary Cyber-Physical Systems (CPSs) often consist of a large number of interconnected components, effectively forming systems-of-systems. Next-generation CPSs are increasingly characterized by the intelligence and autonomy of their components ...

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

From Compliance to Cooperation: A Human-Centered Perspective on Impedance Control in Human–Robot Interaction, Collaboration, and Teaming

open access: yesIEEE Access
Impedance control has long served as a foundation in regulating the dynamic relationship between robots and their environment. With increasing integration of robots into shared human environments, their objectives have evolved beyond stability and ...

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Using Metrics For The Assessment Of Human Interaction With Worker Assistance Systems

open access: yesProceedings of the Conference on Production Systems and Logistics
Factories often include worker assistance systems to support assembly through cognitive guidance, connected tools and sensors. The benefits are improvements in productivity and quality.

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Emotions in human-computer interaction: the role of nonverbal behaviour in interactive systems [PDF]

open access: yes
Until recently, the area of human-computer interaction was based on a traditional, cognitive approach, which separated the study of usability from that of emotions. The recent research has shown that emotions play an important role in our life, which led

The Role of the Robot Mass and Velocity in Physical Human-Robot Interaction - Part II: Constrained Blunt Impacts

open access: yes, 2008
Accidents occurring with classical industrial robots often lead to fatal injuries. Presumably, this is to a great extent caused by the possibility of clamping the human in the confined workspace of the robot.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.
