‘Free to Be Me?’: Gender Role Norms Constrain Career Interests Less for Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual People Than for Heterosexual People

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Social Psychology, Volume 56, Issue 5, Page 903-921, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Societal gender role norms play a crucial role in shaping men's and women's career aspirations. However, prior research documenting this key role of gendered norms has primarily focused on heterosexual women and men in the global North‐West. Previous studies documenting differences in career interests by sexual orientation suggest that gender ...

Bias in Expert Judgment Within Large‐Scale Science and Technology Delphis: What Do We Know (and Not Know) and Can Utilization of Panelists' Rationales Help Reduce Potential Bias?

open access: yesFUTURES &FORESIGHT SCIENCE, Volume 8, Issue 2, August 2026.
ABSTRACT In this paper, we offer a critique of Sokolov, Grebenyuk, and Urashima's paper, “Biases in expert judgments in large‐scale S&T Delphi surveys: how to cope with them?”, published in the journal Technological Forecasting & Social Change in 2025. Although their paper makes a valuable contribution by drawing attention to the potential existence of

Dress for success: climate pressures predict fur insulation and body size in natural and reintroduced populations of a threatened marsupial

open access: yesOikos, Volume 2026, Issue 8, August 2026.
Phenotypic variation in functional traits underpins responses to environmental gradients, influencing thermoregulation, energy balance, and long‐term persistence under climate extremes. Climate change is altering these gradients globally, yet in species that have already disappeared from much of their range, adaptive phenotypes may have also been lost,

An alternative approach to music education research: Utilising Q‐methodology and activity theory to identify and compare international cross‐cultural viewpoints of classroom music teachers' assessment beliefs in England and Singapore

open access: yesReview of Education, Volume 14, Issue 2, August 2026.
Abstract Assessment is a contested term in school conceptualisation and practices. Assessment in music education has a variety of meanings, and complexities can arise from music teacher and school leader understandings of the term. Using an activity theory conceptual framework and Q methodology, this longitudinal research project sought to develop ...

Convergent digestive adaptation to resource limitation in an insular lizard across a microgeographic archipelago

open access: yesJournal of Animal Ecology, Volume 95, Issue 8, Page 1372-1385, August 2026.
Replicated mainland–islet populations of the Skyros wall lizard reveal consistent divergence in digestive physiology, including gut morphology, passage time, digestive efficiency and enzyme activity. These results show how ecological variation in resource availability can shape digestive performance across populations in insular environments.
