Reliability of a novel thermal imaging system for temperature assessment of healthy feet
Background Thermal imaging is a useful modality for identifying preulcerative lesions (“hot spots”) in diabetic foot patients. Despite its recognised potential, at present, there is no readily available instrument for routine podiatric assessment of ...

Sheep Wool Humidity under Electron Irradiation Affects Wool Sorptivity towards Co(II) Ions
The effect of humidity on sheep wool during irradiation by an accelerated electron beam was examined. Each of the samples with 10%, 53%, and 97% relative humidity (RH) absorbed a dose of 0, 109, and 257 kGy, respectively.

Intercomparisons of Long-Term Atmospheric Temperature and Humidity Profile Retrievals
This study builds upon a framework to develop a climate data record of temperature and humidity profiles from high-resolution infrared radiation sounder (HIRS) clear-sky measurements.

Patient-ventilator asynchrony (PVA) is common in patients receiving noninvasive ventilation (NIV). This occurs primarily when the triggering and cycling-off of ventilatory assistance are not synchronized with the patient's inspiratory efforts and could ...

An Edible Humidity Indicator That Responds to Changes in Humidity Mechanically
Elevated humidity levels in medical, food, and pharmaceutical products may reduce the products' shelf life, trigger bacterial growth, and even lead to complete spoilage. In this study, we report a humidity indicator that mechanically bends and rolls itself irreversibly upon exposure to high humidity conditions.

The role of humidity in determining scenarios of perceived temperature extremes in Europe
An increase of the 2 m temperature over Europe is expected within the current century. In order to consider health impacts, it is important to evaluate the combined effect of temperature and humidity on the human body.

At different times considerable attention has been paid to the general darkening in colour of our British insects, compared with Centrall European and with American forms. In Britian, many species become much darker(some absolutely black) on various parts of the West Coasts of Ireland and Great Britian, and, as a general rule, the more humid districts ...
