The activation of hydrogen by excited mercury atoms [PDF]
That mercury atoms excited by absorption of the line 2537Å are able to activate various kinds of atoms by collisions of the second kind has been shown in several different ways.

Chemical composition of the humus layer, mineral soil and soil solution of 200 forest stands in the Netherlands in 1995 [PDF]
A nationwide assessment of the chemical composition of the soil solid phase and the soil solution in the humus layer and two mineral layers (0-10 cm and 10-30 cm) was made for 200 forest stands in the year 1995.

Mitigation of GHGs Emission From Soils by a Catalyzed In-Situ Photo-Oxidative Polymerization of Soil Organic Matter [PDF]
Agricultural lands under food and bio-energy crops, managed grass and permanent crops including agro-forestry, occupy about 40-50% of the Earth's land surface^1^. In 2005, agriculture accounted for an estimated emission of 5.1 to 6.1 GtCO2-eq/yr (10-

Emission of Climate-Relevant Gases in Organic and Conventional Cropping Systems [PDF]
In 81 commercial farms in Germany, emissions of the greenhouse gases CO2, CH4 and N2O from crop production have been computed by model-based analyses. The considered influence factors comprise farm structure, mass and energy inputs as well as cultivation

ABSTRACT Agricultural soils offer great potential for carbon sequestration through humus formation. One way to motivate farmers to build up humus is through humus programs. These are still at an early stage of development, poorly explored, and the number of participating farmers is low. Our aim is to explain the heterogeneity of farmers' willingness to
