Different Sequential Renal Involvement in a Patient With HIV and Hepatitis C: From HIV‐ or Leishmaniasis‐Related Collapsing Glomerulosclerosis to Direct‐Acting Antivirals’ Renal Amyloidosis

open access: yesCase Reports in Infectious Diseases, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
The paradigm of renal involvement in HIV patients has changed in recent years, from HIV‐associated nephropathy to nephroangiosclerosis, due to the increased survival of these patients and their comorbidities. Some of these are leishmaniasis and hepatitis C and their treatments, especially direct‐acting antivirals, which may induce reconstitution of the

Ionothermal Synthesis of Sulfido‐Antimony Dicubanes with 3d‐Metal Spiro‐Atoms

open access: yesZeitschrift für anorganische und allgemeine Chemie, Volume 651, Issue 18, December 10, 2025.
The Lewis‐acidic ionic liquid [BMIm]Cl·4.4AlCl3 activates Sb2S3. With MCl2 (M = Fe, Co, Ni), dicubanes (MSb6S8)4+ can be crystallized. These clusters consist of two cubes that share one vertex, the spiro‐atom M. Counteranions are either [AlCl4]– or the novel group [S(AlCl3)4]2–. All three compounds are paramagnetic. Their optical band gaps range from 1.

Cadaveric device-injected very high-viscosity cement during vertebroplasty

open access: yesJournal of Craniovertebral Junction and Spine, 2018
Introduction: Cement extravasation during vertebroplasty (VP) is the most commonly reported complication. Cement viscosity is considered the single most important predictor of the risk of extravasation. Certainly, injecting high-viscosity cement (HVC) is

Serological and molecular biology screening techniques for HVC infection [PDF]

open access: yesNephrology Dialysis Transplantation, 1996
This is a review of the main biological tests that can be requested by nephrologists to diagnose hepatitis C virus infection, together with a tentative specification of their indications and interpretation methods. This diagnosis is mainly based on serological tests (ELISA).

Efficient Fe‐Based Catalysts Prepared by Atomic Layer Deposition for CO2 Hydrogenation to Higher Hydrocarbons

open access: yesChemCatChem, Volume 17, Issue 24, December 19, 2025.
Fe‐based catalysts for CO2 Fischer–Tropsch synthesis were prepared by atomic layer deposition (ALD) and physically mixed with a K2CO3 promoter. The ALD‐prepared catalysts outperformed their counterpart prepared by an impregnation method regarding CO2 conversion and product selectivity.

Relationship Between Institutional Investment in High-Value Care (HVC) Performance Improvement and Internal Medicine Residents’ Perceptions of HVC Training

open access: yesAcademic Medicine, 2018
PurposeTo measure the association between institutional investment in high-value care (HVC) performance improvement and resident HVC experiences.MethodThe authors analyzed data from two 2014 surveys assessing institutions’ investments in HVC performance improvement as reported by program directors (PDs) and residents’ perceptions of the frequency of ...

Balancing Activity and Stability in Phenol Oxidation via In Situ H2O2 Generation Over Fe‐Modified AuPd Catalysts

open access: yesChemCatChem, Volume 17, Issue 22, November 24, 2025.
AuPdFe catalysts offer highly efficient degradation of phenol through the in situ synthesis of ROS from H2 and O2. Through tuning of the AuPd/Fe ratio, a tenfold increase in phenol degradation compared to the bimetallic parent system may be achieved.
