HVOF and laser cladded Fe-Cr-B coating in simulated biomass combustion: microstructure and fireside corrosion [PDF]
Biomass is often considered as a low carbon alternative to fossil fuels in the power industry. However the heat exchangers in biomass plants can suffer from chloride based aggressive fireside corrosion.

ABSTRACT This study elucidates the oxidation mechanisms governing Y/Hf‐doped AlCoCrFeNiTi high‐entropy alloys (HEAs) and reveals the pivotal role of fabrication processes in dictating high‐temperature oxidation behavior. We demonstrate that casting and spark plasma sintering (SPS) promote Y/Hf segregation, resulting in heterogeneous oxide formation and

HVOF-Deposited WCCoCr as Replacement for Hard Cr in Landing Gear Actuators [PDF]
WCCoCr coatings deposited by HVOF can replace hard Cr on landing gear components. Powders with two different WC particle sizes (micro and nano-) and geometries have been employed to study the effects on the coating’s properties.

Numerical investigation of dual-stage high velocity oxy-fuel (HVOF) thermal spray process: A study on nozzle geometrical parameters [PDF]
The present study takes the advantage of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) methods to model steady-state, two-dimensional, axisymmetric, turbulent, compressible and combusting flow in a dual-stage high velocity oxy-fuel (HVOF) thermal spray system.

Oxidation Performance of NiCoCrAlYTa + 7YSZ Coatings With Ta Addition at Different Temperatures
ABSTRACT This study investigates the morphology and oxidation behavior of thermally grown oxides (TGO) formed at the interface of NiCoCrAlYTa + 7YSZ (7 wt% Y2O3‐stabilized zirconia) coatings deposited by air plasma spray (APS) in air environments at 1050°C, 1100°C, and 1150°C. The enrichment of Ta‐rich oxides beneath the TGO, along with the segregation
