Efficient HVRT Scheme of DFIG Using a SSFCL-Chopper Considering Grid Voltage Recovery

IEEE Transactions on Applied Superconductivity, 2021
To enhance the dynamic high-voltage ride-through (HVRT) performance of doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) considering both the grid voltage swell and recovery influences, an efficient HVRT scheme is proposed by integrating a stator-side superconducting fault current limiter (SSFCL) with a dc-link chopper.

Coordinated LVRT and HVRT Control Scheme for PMSG-based Wind Farm

2019 29th Australasian Universities Power Engineering Conference (AUPEC), 2019
Low voltage ride through (LVRT) and high voltage ride through (HVRT) capability have become the most dominate grid connection requirements for wind energy conversion system (WECS) all over the world. In order to achieve a safe and stable operation, a coordinated LVRT and HVRT control scheme is proposed to improve the fault ride through capability of ...

Transformer based voltage sag generator to perform LVRT and HVRT tests in the laboratory

Proceedings of 14th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference EPE-PEMC 2010, 2010
A transformer based voltage sag generator to test renewable energy systems is presented. Design considerations concerning overvoltages and overcurrents during switching action are adressed. Measurement results of a 30 kW laboratory prototype testing a line side PWM converter and a DFIG are presented.

An Improved Control Strategy for DVR in order to Achieve both LVRT and HVRT in DFIG Wind Turbine

2018 International Conference and Exposition on Electrical And Power Engineering (EPE), 2018
Doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) based wind turbines must support the grid during faults and voltage sag/swells. In this regard, Low voltage ride through (LVRT) and High voltage ride through (HVRT) could be used to improve DFIG performance. In this paper, a control strategy, based on fuzzy control, has been proposed to improve DFIG LVRT and HVRT ...

The Influence of the Grid Overvoltage on Fully Rated Converter Wind Turbine and an HVRT Control Strategy Based on Reactive Current

2019 IEEE 8th International Conference on Advanced Power System Automation and Protection (APAP), 2019
Permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) with fully rated converter (FRC) has been a rising solution to variable speed wind generation. The grid connected FRC wind turbine may be under the impact from grid overvoltage, which lead to a compulsive and constant DC link overvoltage, threatening the safety of the DC link capacitor and the electronic ...
