Effects of Ageing, Oestrogen Level and Altered Dietary Loading on Rat Mandibular Cartilage—A Polarised Light Microscopy Study

open access: yesOrthodontics &Craniofacial Research, Volume 28, Issue 6, Page 971-976, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Objective The mandibular condylar cartilage (MCC) of rats was examined with polarised light microscopy (PLM) to study the effects of ageing, oestrogen level, and altered dietary loading on the structure of the MCC. Materials and Methods 96 Sprague–Dawley rats were separated into 12 groups based on their age (5 months [young] and 14 months [old]

Orosomucoid 1 Participates in Alveolar Hypercoagulation and Fibrinolytic Inhibition Involving NF‐κB Signaling Pathway in LPS‐Induced ARDS

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 39, Issue 21, 15 November 2025.
ORM1 promotes LPS‐induced ARDS by activating NF‐κB in alveolar epithelial II cells, upregulating TF/PAI‐1 to cause hypercoagulation and fibrinolysis inhibition, leading to lung injury. ORM1 knockdown reverses these effects, indicating therapeutic potential.
