Translating whole‐genome doubling into precision medicine in cancer
Whole‐genome doubling creates a WGD‐positive tumor state characterized by persistent chromosomal instability, karyotypic diversification, and cellular stress. These same biological pressures drive aggressive tumor evolution while exposing therapeutic vulnerabilities, providing a rationale for WGD‐informed precision medicine. Whole‐genome doubling (WGD)

Hybrid atrial fibrillation ablation
In this state-of-the art review on hybrid atrial fibrillation (AF) ablation, we briefly focus on the pathophysiology of AF, the rationale for the hybrid approach, its technical aspects and the efficacy and safety outcomes after hybrid AF ablation, both ...

Background. In the recent ESC/EACTS guidelines, left atrial appendage (LAA) occlusion or exclusion in patients undergoing (thoracoscopic) atrial fibrillation (AF) ablation surgery is recommended. The Watchman device (WD, Boston Scientific, Minnesota) has

Pharmacological chromatin remodeling enhances response to estrogen therapy in ER+ breast cancer
Estrogen therapy elicits clinical benefit in ~ 30% of patients with endocrine‐resistant estrogen receptor (ER)‐positive breast cancer. Based on findings that ER transcriptional activation underlies response to estrogen therapy, we tested the effects of epigenetic dysregulation via pharmacological inhibition of histone deacetylases (HDACi).

Debris cover and surface melt at a temperate maritime alpine glacier: Franz Josef Glacier, New Zealand [PDF]
Melt rates on glaciers are strongly influenced by the presence of supraglacial debris, which can either enhance or reduce ablation relative to bare ice.

PANoptosis in the pathogenesis of myelodysplastic syndromes
PANoptosis, a combination of three types of programmed cell death, is mediated by a large protein complex called a PANoptosome. In healthy bone marrow hematopoietic cells, PANoptosis is restricted by inhibitory signaling. In MDS, bone marrow cells become sensitive to the PANoptotic stimuli due to the aberrant inactivation of inhibitory signaling or ...

Numerical Investigation of Nozzle Thermochemical Behaviour in Hybrid Rocket Motors [PDF]
In this thesis work a physics-based model to predict nozzle thermochemical erosion is presented. This model is based on non-charring materials ablation phenomena and can be used to predict the erosion in the peculiar hybrid rocket motor environment and ...

ADP‐ribosylation: An emerging regulator of the epigenome
ADP‐ribosylation has emerged as a dynamic epigenetic signaling mechanism that modifies histones and chromatin‐associated proteins. Through coordinated PARylation and MARylation, it integrates with other histone modifications to regulate chromatin structure, transcription factor activity, and gene expression, influencing genome function and disease ...

Including debris cover effects in a distributed model of glacier ablation [PDF]
Distributed glacier melt models generally assume that the glacier surface consists of bare exposed ice and snow. In reality, many glaciers are wholly or partially covered in layers of debris that tend to suppress ablation rates.
