Soft Actuators Integrated with Control and Power Units: Approaching Wireless Autonomous Soft Robots
Soft robots exhibit significant development potential in various applications. However, there are still key technical challenges regarding material improvement, structure design and components integration. This review focuses on the development and challenge of soft actuators, power components, and control components in untethered intelligent soft ...

A Soft Robotic Fish With a Dielectric Elastomer Actuator Body and Negative Stiffness Spine
This work introduces a bio‐mimetic soft robotic fish driven by fiber‐reinforced dielectric elastomer actuators integrated as its body. By prestretching this active skin against a flexible spine, a negative stiffness system is created, enabling large‐amplitude bending.

Modeling and control of a low-cost multirotor hybrid aerial underwater vehicle
This paper presents a comprehensive modeling and control framework for a low-cost multirotor hybrid aerial-aquatic vehicle (MHAUV) capable of seamless air-water transitions. A hybrid dynamics model is proposed to account for the distinct hydrodynamic and aerodynamic forces across three operational zones: aerial, aquatic, and transitional hybrid regions.

Vision begins not with images but with change: the retina fires only when something moves, handing the brain a stream of spikes. A neuromorphic imaging system adopts the same strategy—an event sensor that sees like the retina, a spiking network that thinks like the brain—to track and reconstruct fully randomly moving targets through tissue (phantom ...

The use of computational fluid dynamics to assess the hull resistance of concept autonomous underwater vehicles [PDF]
Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUV’s) provide an important tool for collecting detailed scientific information from the oceans depths. The hull resistance of an AUV is an important factor in determining the powering requirements and range of the vehicle.
