Polar Coded Modulation via Hybrid Bit Labeling

open access: yes2022 IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory (ISIT), 2022
Bit-interleaved coded modulation (BICM) and multilevel coded modulation (MLC) are commonly used to combine polar codes with high order modulation. While BICM benefits from simple design and the separation of coding and modulation, MLC shows better performance under successive-cancellation decoding.

Self-adjusting force/bit blending control based on quantitative factor-scale factor fuzzy-PID bit control

open access: yesAlexandria Engineering Journal, 2022
In order to improve the operation performance and environmental adaptability of the manipulator, it is essential to control the position and force of the manipulator simultaneously. This paper proposed a hybrid control method of auto-dynamic bit based on

Design Optimization and Application of Hybrid Bit to Reduce a Well Cost in Geothermal Field

open access: yesJournal of Earth Energy Engineering, 2020
Hybrid bit is one of the innovations developed for very hard and abrasive formations such as in geothermal field. This bit eliminates the risk of losing cones, reduces tripping time, and increaseas ROP to reduce the well cost.

Hybrid Precoding for mmWave Massive MIMO With One-Bit DAC [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Communications Letters, 2020
Hybrid beamforming is key to achieving energy-efficient 5G wireless networks equipped with massive amount of antennas. Low-resolution data converters bring yet another degree of freedom to energy efficiency for the state-of-the-art 5G transceivers. In this work, we consider the design of hybrid precoders for massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO)

The Summation-Truncation Hybrid: Reusing Discarded Bits for Free [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
A well-established PRP-to-PRF conversion design is truncation: one evaluates an n-bit pseudorandom permutation on a certain input, and truncates the result to a bits. The construction is known to achieve tight \(2^{n-a/2}\) security. Truncation has gained popularity due to its appearance in the GCM-SIV key derivation function (ACM CCS 2015).
