Neoantigens/ are tumor-specific antigens that evade central immune tolerance mechanisms in the thymus. Long-term tumor-specific cytotoxic T lymphocyte activity maintenance requires class II antigen-reactive CD4+ T cells.

Liquid biopsy enables minimally invasive, real‐time molecular profiling through analysis of circulating biomarkers in biological fluids. This Perspective highlights the importance of training pathologists through integrative educational programs, such as the European Masters in Molecular Pathology, to ensure effective and equitable implementation of ...

The LINC01116 long noncoding RNA is induced by hypoxia and associated with poor prognosis and high recurrence rates in two cohorts of lung adenocarcinoma patients. Here, we demonstrate that besides its expression in cancer cells, LINC01116 is markedly expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells of the tumor stroma in which it participates in hypoxia ...

Intrinsic signalling factors associated with cancer cell-cell fusion
Cellular fusion e.g. between cancer cells and normal cells represents a stepwise process that is tightly regulated. During a pre-hybrid preparation program somatic cells and/or cancer cells are promoted to a pro-fusogenic state as a prerequisite to ...

This study shows that copy number variations (CNVs) can be reliably detected in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded (FFPE) solid cancer samples using ultra‐low‐pass whole‐genome sequencing, provided that key (pre)‐analytical parameters are optimized.

Background The biological phenomenon of cell fusion has been associated with cancer progression since it was determined that normal cell × tumor cell fusion-derived hybrid cells could exhibit novel properties, such as enhanced metastatogenic capacity or ...

IqgC is a RasGAP from Dictyostelium discoideum. IqgC binds RasG via its RasGAP domain and deactivates it on macroendocytic cups, thereby suppressing the uptake of fluid and particles. IqgC has a positive effect on cell‐substratum adhesion, and its RGCt domain is required for recruitment to ventral foci.

ZHX2 deficiency enriches hybrid MET cells through regulating E-cadherin expression
Growing evidence indicates that the epithelial to mesenchymal (E/M) hybrid state plays a key role in tumorigenesis. Importantly, a hybrid mesenchymal to epithelial transition (MET) state in which individual cells express both epithelial and mesenchymal ...

HSP70 governs permeability and mechanotransduction in primary human endothelial cells
HSP70 chemical inhibition reduces endothelial cell proliferation and increases permeability, the latter supported by normal interendothelial junctional protein distribution. HSP70 also plays a role in shear stress response, a hemodynamic force naturally present in blood vessels and correlated with vessel protection.

Background Fusion of breast cancer cells with tumor-associated populations of the microenvironment including mesenchymal stroma/stem-like cells (MSC) represents a rare event in cell communication whereby the metastatic capacity of those hybrid cells ...
