Basic Development of Hybrid Finite Element Method for Midfrequency Structural Vibrations

AIAA Journal, 1999
The theoretical development of a hybrid finite element method is presented. It combines conventional finite element analysis (FEA) with energy FEA (EFEA) to achieve a numerical solution to midfrequency vibrations. In the midfrequency range a system comprises some members that contain several wavelengths and some members with just a few wavelengths ...

Developing energy forecasting model using hybrid artificial intelligence method

Journal of Central South University, 2015
An important problem in demand planning for energy consumption is developing an accurate energy forecasting model. In fact, it is not possible to allocate the energy resources in an optimal manner without having accurate demand value. A new energy forecasting model was proposed based on the back-propagation (BP) type neural network and imperialist ...

Hybrid BRAINNE: a method for developing symbolic disjunctive rules from a hybrid neural network

1996 IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man and Cybernetics. Information Intelligence and Systems (Cat. No.96CH35929), 2002
A method for learning disjunctive rules using a combination of two existing neural network schemes is proposed. The hybrid network consists of two layers; the first is an unsupervised network while the second is a supervised network. The first layer is used for ordering the inputs of training instances into clusters.

A hybrid numerical method to develop America’s Cup yacht appendages

Sports Engineering, 2009
A method aimed at the development of an America’s Cup racing yacht bulb is developed and validated against experimental data. The method relies heavily on Reynolds Averaged Navier Stokes computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and also factors in gravitational and aerodynamics effects through the use of a Velocity Prediction Program.

New developments in the localized hybrid method of stress analysis

Experimental Mechanics, 1991
Developments of the localized hybrid method which combines an experimental technique, moire interferometry, and a numerical method, finite-element analysis, are presented. In this localized hybrid method, the displacement fields which the moire experiments provide in some local regions of interest are used as input data for finite-element stress ...

Hybrid analysis methods for the modern mechanical development process

MTZ worldwide, 2007
“CAE and testing go hand in hand”: this is one of the basic rules for a cost- and time-efficient mechanical development process of state-of-the-art engines for mass production. In this article by FEV Motorentechnik GmbH, it will be exemplarily shown how these technologies can be combined with experimental investigations so as to find solutions for non ...

Development of 2D hybrid equilibrium elements in large increment method

Journal of Shanghai Jiaotong University (Science), 2013
As a force-based finite element method (FEM), large increment method (LIM) has been developed in recent years. It has been shown that LIM provided prominent advantage of parallel computation with high efficiency and low time consumption for member structural system. To fully utilize its advantage in parallel computation, it is the time to extend LIM to

A developed hybrid method for crack identification of beams

Smart Structures and Systems, 2015
A developed hybrid method for crack identification of beams is presented. Based on the Euler-Bernouli beam theory and concepts of fracture mechanics, governing equation of the cracked beams is reformulated. Finite element (FE) method as a powerful numerical tool is used to discritize the equation in space domain.
