Magnetoplasmon excitation and hybridization in gyroelectric cylinders

Applied Optics, 2019
We investigate magnetoplasmon resonances and their coupling effects in gyroelectric cylinders. In individual cylinders, the dipole plasmon can be excited by plane wave illumination, and the dipole plasmon splits into lower energy and higher energy rotational magnetoplasmons in the presence of an external magnetic field.

A new Rotor Excitation Topology for Hybrid Excitation Machine

2016 IEEE International Conference on Power Electronics, Drives and Energy Systems (PEDES), 2016
The Parallel Hybrid Excitation Machine (PHEM) has advantage of good flux regulation as compared to the Series Hybrid Excitation Machine (SHEM). While the series hybrid excitation machine has a simple rotor structure, the parallel hybrid excitation machines proposed so far in the literature have either complex structures or large in size to overcome the

Integrated brushless excitation for Hybrid Excitation Synchronous Generator

2015 IEEE Magnetics Conference (INTERMAG), 2015
Brushless excitation generator is highly reliable and easily maintained.[1] In this paper, an integrated brushless excitated method (IBEM) is proposed in this paper. It can realize brushless excitation for the generator whose excitation windings are placed on the rotor.

Upgrade of Exciter for Synchronous Generators basing on the Hybrid Excitation Concept

2023 AEIT International Conference on Electrical and Electronic Technologies for Automotive (AEIT AUTOMOTIVE), 2023
In the classical brushless arrangement, the field current of wound-field synchronous generators (SGs) is provided by exciters through rotating diode rectifiers. The control of the SG field current is achieved indirectly by regulating the field current of the exciter, whose excitation winding is stationary.

Optimization Design and Research of a Hybrid Excitation Compulsator

IEEE Transactions on Plasma Science, 2012
Compulsator is the best pulse power supply of electromagnetic gun, into which the energy storage, electromechanical energy conversion and pulse shaping are integrated. Compulsators were usually electrical excitation. The permanent magnetic excitation was introduced to simplify the structure and remove brushes and slip rings based on an individual ...

Hybrid Hamiltonian Simulation for Excitation Dynamics

The Journal of Physical Chemistry Letters
Hamiltonian simulation is one of the most anticipated applications of quantum computing. Quantum circuit depth for implementing Hamiltonian simulation is commonly time dependent using Trotter-Suzuki product formulas so that long time quantum dynamic simulations (QDSs) become impratical for near-term quantum processors.

Excitation of lower-hybrid waves in dusty plasmas

Journal of Plasma Physics, 2005
A dispersion relation is derived detailing the effect of a population of charged dust grains on the growth of lower-hybrid waves excited by a, ring distribution of ions in a plasma. Numerical solutions show that the instability can be enhanced or reduced depending on the parameter regime.

A New Hybrid Excitation Permanent Magnet Machine With an Independent AC Excitation Port

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2019
This paper proposes a novel hybrid excitation permanent magnet (PM) machine with an independent ac excitation port to extend the speed range and improve the torque capability. The proposed machine is characterized by an axial stator placed in one side of the rotor, which provides a shunted flux path of the radial stator.

Efficient Event-Driven Simulation of Excitable Hybrid Automata

2006 International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 2006
We present an efficient, event-driven simulation framework for large-scale networks of excitable hybrid automata (EHA), a particular kind of hybrid automata that we use to model excitable cells. A key aspect of EHA is that they possess protected modes of operation in which they are non-responsive to external inputs.
