Risk Evaluation for Hybrid Excitation Compulsator
IEEE Transactions on Plasma Science, 2015In the field of compulsators, hybrid excitation concepts have been verified through the development of several hybrid excitation prototypes. Although there are some advantages associated with the hybrid excitation compulsator in comparison with the traditional electrical excitation topology compulsator, some drawbacks still exist, which may lead to ...

Hybrid Hamiltonian Simulation for Excitation Dynamics
The Journal of Physical Chemistry LettersHamiltonian simulation is one of the most anticipated applications of quantum computing. Quantum circuit depth for implementing Hamiltonian simulation is commonly time dependent using Trotter-Suzuki product formulas so that long time quantum dynamic simulations (QDSs) become impratical for near-term quantum processors.

Parametric excitation of lower hybrid instabilities
The Physics of Fluids, 1973The application of a sufficiently intense long wavelength oscillating electric field at the lower hybrid frequency to a plasma with two ion species leads to instability of finite wavelength electron-ion lower hybrid modes and a purely growing modification of the ion-ion hybrid mode.

Double disc alternators with hybrid excitation
IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 1992The authors investigate a version of a double disc alternator which uses both a stationary coil on the armature side of the airgap and permanent magnets on the rotor side for excitation. The machine is brushless without the use of rotating diodes, but nevertheless can be voltage regulated.

Design of Halbach hybrid excitation compulsator
2014 17th International Symposium on Electromagnetic Launch Technology, 2014Pulsed alternators integrate kinetic energy storage, electromechanical energy conversion and pulse shaping in one unit, and it is the research focused on the field of pulsed power sources. The electrical excitation and the permanent magnet excitation are contained in one hybrid excitation pulsed generator together in which the advantages of two ...

Efficient Event-Driven Simulation of Excitable Hybrid Automata
2006 International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 2006We present an efficient, event-driven simulation framework for large-scale networks of excitable hybrid automata (EHA), a particular kind of hybrid automata that we use to model excitable cells. A key aspect of EHA is that they possess protected modes of operation in which they are non-responsive to external inputs.

Excitation of lower-hybrid waves in dusty plasmas
Journal of Plasma Physics, 2005A dispersion relation is derived detailing the effect of a population of charged dust grains on the growth of lower-hybrid waves excited by a, ring distribution of ions in a plasma. Numerical solutions show that the instability can be enhanced or reduced depending on the parameter regime.

Flux regulation strategies for hybrid excitation synchronous machines
2014 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition (ECCE), 2014This paper investigates methods to achieve a wide constant power speed range (CPSR) in electric drives using hybrid excitation synchronous machines; five strategies are presented and compared. These range from state-of-the-art flux weakening based on demagnetizing armature current injection, to algorithms based on wound excitation (WE) current ...

Hybrid excited claw pole electric machine
2016 21st International Conference on Methods and Models in Automation and Robotics (MMAR), 2016The paper presents the concept and results of simulation and experimental research of a claw pole generator with hybrid excitation. Hybrid excitation is performed with a conventional coil located between two parts of the claw-shape rotor and additional permanent magnets which are placed on claw poles.
