Modeling 3D of generator with hybrid excitation
This article describes simulation problems of hybrid excitation generator. As an example a conceptual prototype machine is build with two parts. One part of the machine is typical synchronous permanent magnet generator (with surface mounted magnets on rotor). The second part of machine has rotor with rotating-coil excitation. Both parts are integrated.

Control of a Hybrid Excitation Synchronous Generator for Aircraft Applications
IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2008This paper deals with the control of a hybrid excitation synchronous generator which is used to supply an isolated grid for aircraft applications. This grid is supposed to be a 270-V dc bus. Thus, a rectifier is required between the machine and the dc bus.

A Two-Stage Brushless Excitation Method for Hybrid Excitation Synchronous Generator
IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 2015A two-stage brushless excitation method for hybrid excitation synchronous generators (HESGs) is proposed in this paper. Comparing with the traditional three-stage brushless excitation method, the auxiliary exciter is eliminated. The complete self-excitation is realized. As the main generator of two-stage brushless generation system, a tangential/radial

Analysis and Design of Hybrid Excitation Claw-pole Generator
Electric Power Components and Systems, 2011Abstract Since the traditional claw-pole generator has disadvantages, such as leakage flux, low-output performance under a low-speed condition, and inefficiency, a hybrid excitation claw-pole generator for vehicles is invented. Through permanent magnets inserted among claws, this new kind of generator can not only prevent leakage between the claw poles,

Upgrade of Exciter for Synchronous Generators basing on the Hybrid Excitation Concept
2023 AEIT International Conference on Electrical and Electronic Technologies for Automotive (AEIT AUTOMOTIVE), 2023In the classical brushless arrangement, the field current of wound-field synchronous generators (SGs) is provided by exciters through rotating diode rectifiers. The control of the SG field current is achieved indirectly by regulating the field current of the exciter, whose excitation winding is stationary.

Integrated brushless excitation for Hybrid Excitation Synchronous Generator
2015 IEEE Magnetics Conference (INTERMAG), 2015Brushless excitation generator is highly reliable and easily maintained.[1] In this paper, an integrated brushless excitated method (IBEM) is proposed in this paper. It can realize brushless excitation for the generator whose excitation windings are placed on the rotor.
