Hybrid Excited Synchronous Generator for Microhydropower Unit
2019 IEEE 6th International Conference on Energy Smart Systems (ESS), 2019The hybrid excited synchronous generator with axial magnetic flux for microhydropower unit and its operation mode is considered in this paper. A mathematical model of synchronous machine with hybrid excitation in the rotor coordinate was obtained to simulate voltage stabilization process depending on drive speed and load.

An extended plasma generator with hybrid excitation
Siberian Russian Student Workshops and Tutorials on Electron Devices and Materials (Cat. No.00EX416), 2002The increasing requirements for uniformity of a plasma torch, and the necessity of holding of group technological processes, compel us to develop new layout designs of RF plasma generators. One perspective design is an RF generator based on a distributed amplifier.

Hybrid excitation synchronous generators for island operation
The XIX International Conference on Electrical Machines - ICEM 2010, 2010The paper discusses Hybrid Excitation Synchronous Machines (HESMs) principles and their application possibilities. HESMs combine both features of traditional wound field synchronous machines (SMs) and permanent magnet synchronous machines (PMSMs).

Design and Analysis of a Dual‐Direction Hybrid Excitation Generator
IEEJ Transactions on Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 2022With the wide use of new energy vehicles, the research and development of high‐performance generators become more important. The claw pole machine is very suitable to be used as an automobile generator because of its unique characteristics. However, its development is limited by the disadvantage of abundant harmonic content, especially when used with ...

A hybrid-excited axial transverse flux permanent magnet generator
2016 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition (ECCE), 2016This paper proposes a modular hybrid-excited axial transverse flux permanent magnet machine. The operational principles and performance characterization are presented. The toroidal excitation windings are placed on both teeth of the U-type core and are excited by a field current.

Robust control of hybrid excitation synchronous generator for wind applications
Mathematics and Computers in Simulation, 2017The purpose of this paper is to develop a robust control law for a hybrid excitation synchronous generator (HESG) for wind power applications. In a HESG, the excitation flux is created by both permanent magnets and excitation coils, so the output voltage can be controlled by the DC excitation field. For isolated loads, it is then possible to use a very

Simulation of AC excitation field orientation control for hybrid excitation synchronous generator
Proceedings of 2013 2nd International Conference on Measurement, Information and Control, 2013A novel coordinate structure hybrid excitation synchronous generator (HESG) with AC excitation is proposed to solve the problem that the air-gap magnetic field of permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) is not easy to control. The structure and operation principle of the HESG are presented.

Research on new hybrid excitation PM synchronous generators with tooth harmonic excitation
COMPEL: The International Journal for Computation and Mathematics in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 2014Purpose – In order to keep the advantages of PM generators and eliminate its disadvantage – difficulty in regulating the magnetic field, hybrid excitation is an effective way. The purpose of this paper is to propose a novel way to achieve hybrid excitation by use of tooth harmonic field.

Hybrid excitation of synchronous generators for wind turbines
2nd IET Renewable Power Generation Conference (RPG 2013), 2013A simplified hybrid PM- and electrically excited synchronous generator model is introduced. A 3MW direct-drive wind turbine Cost of Energy model is used to show how magnet costs can make hybrid or fully electrically-excited synchronous machines economically attractive.

Energy-based hybrid excitation control for synchronous generators
IEEE PES General Meeting, 2010This paper presents an energy-based hybrid control, which replaces the traditional automatic voltage regulator (AVR) for excitation control of a synchronous generator connected to an infinite power system. The proposed controller is based on energy representation of the power system by using a port-controlled Hamiltonian form.
