Hybrid Excited Synchronous Generator for Microhydropower Unit

2019 IEEE 6th International Conference on Energy Smart Systems (ESS), 2019
The hybrid excited synchronous generator with axial magnetic flux for microhydropower unit and its operation mode is considered in this paper. A mathematical model of synchronous machine with hybrid excitation in the rotor coordinate was obtained to simulate voltage stabilization process depending on drive speed and load.

Upgrade of Exciter for Synchronous Generators basing on the Hybrid Excitation Concept

2023 AEIT International Conference on Electrical and Electronic Technologies for Automotive (AEIT AUTOMOTIVE), 2023
In the classical brushless arrangement, the field current of wound-field synchronous generators (SGs) is provided by exciters through rotating diode rectifiers. The control of the SG field current is achieved indirectly by regulating the field current of the exciter, whose excitation winding is stationary.

A hybrid-excited axial transverse flux permanent magnet generator

2016 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition (ECCE), 2016
This paper proposes a modular hybrid-excited axial transverse flux permanent magnet machine. The operational principles and performance characterization are presented. The toroidal excitation windings are placed on both teeth of the U-type core and are excited by a field current.

An extended plasma generator with hybrid excitation

Siberian Russian Student Workshops and Tutorials on Electron Devices and Materials (Cat. No.00EX416), 2002
The increasing requirements for uniformity of a plasma torch, and the necessity of holding of group technological processes, compel us to develop new layout designs of RF plasma generators. One perspective design is an RF generator based on a distributed amplifier.

Energy-based hybrid excitation control for synchronous generators

IEEE PES General Meeting, 2010
This paper presents an energy-based hybrid control, which replaces the traditional automatic voltage regulator (AVR) for excitation control of a synchronous generator connected to an infinite power system. The proposed controller is based on energy representation of the power system by using a port-controlled Hamiltonian form.

Hybrid excitation synchronous generators for small hydropower plants

2016 XXII International Conference on Electrical Machines (ICEM), 2016
Modern rare-earth permanent magnets (PMs) can substantially improve the output characteristics of electrical machines. However, at the same time, the main flux created by PMs is not adjustable, and therefore, permanent magnet synchronous generators (PMSGs) are inappropriate for some applications where the reactive power regulation is required.

Nonlinear H-infinity control for hybrid excited synchronous generators

2020 IEEE 14th International Conference on Compatibility, Power Electronics and Power Engineering (CPE-POWERENG), 2020
The model of a hybrid excited synchronous generator is analyzed and a nonlinear optimal (H-infinity) control method is proposed for it. This type of generator receives primary excitation at its stator’s winding through an AC/DC and DC/AC converter, and auxiliary excitation at a secondary winding that is fed by an AC to DC converter.
