Enhancing droplet transfer in laser-arc hybrid welding via oscillating laser-induced plasma interaction

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology
Controlling droplet transfer is crucial for achieving high-quality laser-arc hybrid welding of aluminum alloys. This study systematically investigates the effects of oscillating laser beam modes (transverse, longitudinal, circular) on the welding process

Oxide‐Free Titanium Coatings by Wire Arc Spraying in a Silane‐Doped Inert Atmosphere

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 28, Issue 12, 17 June 2026.
A silane‐doped argon atmosphere enables the production of oxide‐free titanium coatings via twin‐wire arc spraying at ambient pressure. This innovative approach eliminates residual oxygen, creating process conditions that prevent oxidation and nitride formation.

Laser beam submerged arc hybrid welding: A novel hybrid welding process [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Laser Applications, 2018
The currently predominant joining process for constructional steel in the sheet thickness range of 40 mm, as is customary in pipeline and bridge construction, is submerged arc welding. Due to the large number of welding layers required, a high quantity of energy, expensive welding filler material, and also distortion are introduced into the component ...

2D Magnetic and Topological Quantum Materials and Devices for Ultralow Power Spintronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 44, 1 June 2026.
2D magnets and topological quantum materials enable ultralow‐power spintronics by combining robust magnetic order with symmetry‐protected, Berry‐curvature‐driven transport. Fundamentals of 2D anisotropy and spin‐orbit‐coupling induced band inversion are linked to scalable growth and vdW stacking.

Investigation of humping defect formation in a lap joint at a high-speed hybrid laser-GMA welding

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2019
Productivity rise can be realized at high-speed welding, but in a practice, the constraints emanate from the tolerance welding speed limit beyond which generate humping defects and the likes.

Laser Beam Submerged Arc Hybrid Welding

open access: yesPhysics Procedia, 2011
AbstractThe laser beam submerged arc hybrid welding method originates from the knowledge that, with increasing penetration depth, the laser beam process has a tendency to pore formation in the lower weld regions. The combination with the energy efficient submerged arc process improves the degassing and reduces the tendency to pore formation.
