Deterministic Policy Optimization by Combining Pathwise and Score Function Estimators for Discrete Action Spaces

open access: yes, 2017
Policy optimization methods have shown great promise in solving complex reinforcement and imitation learning tasks. While model-free methods are broadly applicable, they often require many samples to optimize complex policies. Model-based methods greatly

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Optimized Quantification of Spin Relaxation Times in the Hybrid State

open access: yes, 2018
Purpose: The analysis of optimized spin ensemble trajectories for relaxometry in the hybrid state. Methods: First, we constructed visual representations to elucidate the differential equation that governs spin dynamics in hybrid state.

TMC4 localizes to multiple taste cell types in the mouse taste papillae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Transmembrane channel‐like 4 (TMC4), a voltage‐dependent chloride channel, plays a critical role in amiloride‐insensitive salty taste transduction. TMC4 is broadly expressed in all mature taste cell types, suggesting a possible involvement of multiple cell types in this pathway.

Using SVM-RSM and ELM-RSM Approaches for Optimizing the Production Process of Methyl and Ethyl Esters

open access: yesEnergies, 2018
The production of a desired product needs an effective use of the experimental model. The present study proposes an extreme learning machine (ELM) and a support vector machine (SVM) integrated with the response surface methodology (RSM) to solve the ...

Radiative Transfer in Star Formation: Testing FLD and Hybrid Methods

open access: yes, 2012
We perform a comparison between two radiative transfer algorithms commonly employed in hydrodynamical calculations of star formation: grey flux limited diffusion and the hybrid scheme, in addition we compare these algorithms to results from the Monte ...

Down‐regulation of Shh in the hair follicles of mice during chemotherapy‐induced hair loss is mediated by the JAK/STAT1 signaling pathway

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We found that during chemotherapy‐induced alopecia (CIA), Sonic hedgehog (Shh) expression significantly decreased in hair follicle Shh+ cells, whereas the Janus‐activated kinase/signal transducer and activator of transcription 1 (JAK/STAT1) signaling pathway was markedly activated.

Extrapolation Methods for the Dirac Inverter in Hybrid Monte Carlo

open access: yes, 1994
In Hybrid Monte Carlo(HMC) simulations for full QCD, the gauge fields evolve smoothly as a function of Molecular Dynamics (MD) time. Thus we investigate improved methods of estimating the trial solutions to the Dirac propagator as superpositions of the ...

Sustainable bioplastics manufacturing from renewable sources

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Bioplastics are manufactured by using polymers from different bio‐based sources. These novel materials not only offer biodegradability but also possess various functional properties that make them suitable for diverse applications. Recent developments in the preparation of bioplastics are reported, highlighting the distinct properties of each type of ...

Hybrid MM/CG Webserver: Automatic Set Up of Molecular Mechanics/Coarse-Grained Simulations for Human G Protein-Coupled Receptor/Ligand Complexes

open access: yesFrontiers in Molecular Biosciences, 2020
Hybrid Molecular Mechanics/Coarse-Grained (MM/CG) simulations help predict ligand poses in human G protein-coupled receptors (hGPCRs), the most important protein superfamily for pharmacological applications.
