Hybrid seeded femtosecond optical parametric amplifier
We propose and demonstrate a novel hybrid seeded optical parametric amplifier (OPA) that incorporates an external CW seeding at signal wavelength in the first stage and difference-frequency mixing between the idler and pump in the second stage. By using a germanium plate to block the CW seeding background, spectrally and temporally clean signal pulses ...

SURVEY OF HYBRID EDFA/RAMAN IN C AND L BANDS
Optical amplifiers have had a breakthrough in recent years. Initially, amplification of optical signals was performed passing the optical signal to the electrical domain, then the amplified signal back again to the optical domain.

A high average power, compact 100 kHz, 11.6-ns Nd:YAG Innoslab amplifier
A high average power 1064 nm Nd:YAG nanosecond Innoslab amplifier was constructed by using multi-mirror hybrid resonator cavity. In the compact configuration, a 40 W seed laser has been amplified to 210 W of average output power with 11.6-ns pulse width ...

Design of Hybrid Optical Amplifiers for High Capacity Optical Transmission [PDF]
This paper describes our design of a hybrid amplifier composed of a distributed Raman amplifier and erbiumdoped fiber amplifiers for C- and L-bands. We characterize the distributed Raman amplifier by numerical simulation based on the experimentally measured Raman gain coefficient of an ordinary single mode fiber transmission line.

A millimetre wave phase shifter using a 40GHz hybrid mode locked laser [PDF]
In this paper, electrical injection locking of a modelocked laser is used to create a millimetre wave phase shifter. The phase shift is measured directly using a vector network analyzer enabling straightforward characterization of such systems.

Wireless interrogation of an optically modulated resonant tunnelling diode oscillator [PDF]
n this work, a resonant tunnelling diode-photo-detector based microwave oscillator is amplitude modulated using an optical signal. The modulated free running oscillator is coupled to an antenna and phase locked by a wireless carrier that allows remote ...
