Hybrid precoder for massive MIMO systems with coverage constraint
2015 IEEE/CIC International Conference on Communications in China - Workshops (CIC/ICCC), 2015Hybrid architecture has been shown to be cost effective for massive multi-input multi-out (MIMO) systems, where analog precoder is used to form narrow beams towards users for data transmission with reduced number of radio frequency chains. However, besides the user-specific data, a wideband massive MIMO system needs to broadcast control signaling ...

On the Quantization of Phase Shifters for Hybrid Precoding Systems
IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 2017Hybrid precoding that combines analog RF processing and digital baseband processing has been shown to be a promising technique for transceivers with limited number of RF chains. The RF processing, due to power and complexity issue, is typically done by using phase shifters.

Two-stage hybrid precoding for massive MIMO systems
2015 22nd International Conference on Telecommunications (ICT), 2015Massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems are expected to significantly enhance the energy efficiency (EE) and spectrum efficiency (SE). However, RF transceivers introduce huge cost of high complexity of the hardware with the antennas increasing.

Hybrid Precoding Processor for Millimeter Wave MIMO Communications
IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems II: Express Briefs, 2019Millimeter wave (mmWave) multiple-input multiple-output system is one of the most important techniques to increase throughput for 5G communications. To overcome the severe pathloss in the mmWave channel, the hybrid analog/digital precoding technique jointly designs radio frequency (RF) beamforming vectors and a baseband precoding matrix to approach the

Hybrid Spectral Precoding/Windowing for Low-Latency OFDM
2017 IEEE 85th Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC Spring), 2017In this paper we present a joint precoded and windowed OFDM system. This new hybrid method provides flexibility to suppress the out-of band (OOB) emission in non-contiguous OFDM systems used in cognitive radio. This method also provides the possibility of shortening the cyclic prefix without sacrificing the OOB emission or increasing the additional ...

Hybrid MMSE precoding for mmWave multiuser MIMO systems
2016 IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC), 2016Millimeter-wave (mmWave) communication has emerged as one of the most promising technologies to deal with the increasing demand in data transmissions over wireless networks. However, due to the propagation characteristic at the mmWave band, much higher pathloss is observed compared to the commonly-used microwave band.

Hybrid Multi-User Precoding with Amplitude and Phase Control
2018 IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC), 2018There has been a strong interest in understanding hybrid precoding tradeoffs for millimeter wave (mmW) multi-input multi-output (MIMO) systems. A common assumption in most of these works is that the analog part of the hybrid precoder can only be designed with phase shifters. The consequent search for analog and digital precoding matrices is solved with

Directional Hybrid Precoding in Millimeter-Wave MIMO Systems
2016 IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM), 2016The focus of this work is on cost and complexity- induced rank-constrained precoding for millimeter- wave (mmW) multi-input multi-output (MIMO) systems. The higher antenna dimensionality and sparse channel structure of mmW systems motivate directional precoding schemes over more complex and less robust eigen-mode-based precoding schemes.

Gradient-based solution for hybrid precoding in MIMO systems
2017 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP), 2017The combination of baseband and analog precoding for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems is considered in this paper which is referred to as hybrid precoding. The system capacity, as a design criterion, is maximized subject to unit modulus constraints on the elements of the analog precoder (phase shifters), and a total power constraint.
