Directional Hybrid Precoding in Millimeter-Wave MIMO Systems

2016 IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM), 2016
The focus of this work is on cost and complexity- induced rank-constrained precoding for millimeter- wave (mmW) multi-input multi-output (MIMO) systems. The higher antenna dimensionality and sparse channel structure of mmW systems motivate directional precoding schemes over more complex and less robust eigen-mode-based precoding schemes.

Gradient-based solution for hybrid precoding in MIMO systems

2017 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP), 2017
The combination of baseband and analog precoding for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems is considered in this paper which is referred to as hybrid precoding. The system capacity, as a design criterion, is maximized subject to unit modulus constraints on the elements of the analog precoder (phase shifters), and a total power constraint.

Precoding for RadComm Systems Based on Hybrid Antenna Arrays

2020 IEEE 11th Sensor Array and Multichannel Signal Processing Workshop (SAM), 2020
Integrated wireless communications and radar detections have so far mainly relied on phased-array (PA) antennas with only considering the beampatterns in angle domain. By applying the frequency diverse array (FDA) into radar and communications (RadComm) systems, a compact dual-functional structure of joint PA and FDA is designed.

Hybrid Method of Selective Nonlinear Precoding and Interference Alignment

2018 IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC), 2018
Interference alignment (IA) is a well known technique to boost the system capacity of MIMO interfering broadcast channels (IBCs) by aligning interferences into spatial dimensions, which are almost orthogonal to the dimensions occupied by the desired signals. However, the conventional IA algorithms with iterations suffer from large convergence times. We

Two-stage hybrid precoding for massive MIMO systems

2015 22nd International Conference on Telecommunications (ICT), 2015
Massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems are expected to significantly enhance the energy efficiency (EE) and spectrum efficiency (SE). However, RF transceivers introduce huge cost of high complexity of the hardware with the antennas increasing.

Hybrid Precoding Processor for Millimeter Wave MIMO Communications

IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems II: Express Briefs, 2019
Millimeter wave (mmWave) multiple-input multiple-output system is one of the most important techniques to increase throughput for 5G communications. To overcome the severe pathloss in the mmWave channel, the hybrid analog/digital precoding technique jointly designs radio frequency (RF) beamforming vectors and a baseband precoding matrix to approach the

2017 9th International Conference on Wireless Communications and Signal Processing (WCSP), 2017
In order to satisfy rate requirement in the enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB) application group, wireless technologies as Air Interfaces (AI) are widely studied, including non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) and massive multiple-input multiple-output (mMIMO).
